I might be a Luka stan, but Luka dickriders piss me off wrt Mizi and her beating him at the start of Karma.

Like, did I feel bad for Luka? Absolutely. But it isn’t fair to expect Mizi to empathize with him in that moment (or at all, honestly).

From her perspective, he’s just an asshole who retraumatized her using the death of her lover and killed her childhood friend; she’s reeling from grief and guilt. We as the audience know that Luka is also an abuse victim doing what he can to survive, but Mizi doesn’t. Similarly, from Luka’s perspective, his opponents don’t matter to him, and why would they? What’s important is living.

Why does Luka get to be selfish while Mizi is demonized for her irrational but ultimately understandable trauma response?
