I clearly have a weakness for big strong guys letting down their walls and being vulnerable with the people they love. My two favourite scenes are Ilya and Garrett both letting down their walls with Shane and Hannah. Both of them talk about their abusive fathers and losing their mothers. Ironically both scenes also happen in 1x05 for both series.

In the final moment, Williams turns to Storrie and does a version of Ilya's "attack-y" face, as Tierney describes it. He left that sweet exchange in to show how Shane is capable of breaking his guarded facade. "I think Shane does have a playful side that is stifled... Under every scene in season 1, there's not much room for super goofy play," Williams says. "There's a tentative nature to episode 6. Although it's calm, it's still like, 'Can this work, when we're left alone to our own devices?'"
"It does feel like a puppy learning to play," Tierney adds.

Recalling the first day of filming, Tierney says that after seeing the pair excel in the emotional wringer, his own “nerves were out the window, I knew I could throw anything at those guys.”

He's honoured to be Canadian. This is fantastic. Hudson wants to thank the cast and crew of Heated Rivalry. Hudson thanks Crave for funding our "straight forward" hockey show. This gets a laugh from the audience. Hudson thanks HBO for getting more eyes on the show. Hudson thanks Rachel Reid for creating this incredible universe. Hudson thanks his two papas aka Jacob Tierney and Brendan Brady. Hudson thanks his parents for always believing in him and telling him to never give up on his dream. Hudson thanks his partner Katelyn for always being there for him. She helps him keep stable because he's not always like that.
Hudson finishes by saying that he wishes he could cut his award in half because " if these gay yearning bottom eyes didn't have a big sexy Russian to feast upon my performance wouldn't be as good. So I also share this honourary Canadian Connor Storrie." At the end Hudson lets a big "Phew" and says "I got through it." You could see how nervous he was up on the stage.
