Giants' DeSclafani to IL with ankle inflammation

The Giants placed right-hander Anthony DeSclafani on the 10-day injured list because of right ankle inflammation Friday. In addition, outfielder Steven Duggar was placed on the 60-day IL with a moderate left oblique strain.

ChiSox's Anderson suspended 1 game for gesture

Chicago White Sox shortstop Tim Anderson was suspended one game and fined an undisclosed amount on Friday for giving fans the middle finger Wednesday in Cleveland. He is appealing the ban.

Andrew Miller announces retirement after 16 seasons

After a 16-year career in MLB, Andrew Miller is hanging up the spikes, according to a report from the St. Louis Post-Dispatch. The 36-year-old lefty reliever was a two-time All-Star and the 2015 AL Reliever of the Year award winner.

Things got ugly at the end of today's Wisconsin/Michigan game after Michigan coach Juwan Howard threw a punch at Wisconsin asst. coach Joe Krabbenhoft. Howard, who now coaches for his alma mater and was a former NBA player, says he didn't like that Wisconsin called a timeout with 4 seconds remaining even though they had the game well in hand.
