——“Yeah…You wouldn’t understand at all Delta.”
"--I feel that anything can be understood when approached from the correct point of view."
((i am thoroughly enjoying making this blog wow....))
——“I had a feeling you wouldn’t Delta. No need to try and think about it now. Okay?”
"--Very well. I will not think about how physical injury may be construed as 'funny'."
——“Sometimes Delta. I mean, it does injure him just slightly, but I do think it’s funny. But really, must be only me.Though, in some sense, anything could really awake and annoy anyone. But that does depend on the person.”
"--I'm confused. In what way is the injury of another 'funny'?"
((y'know what? fuck it. i'm going to do the reply i need to do, and i'm going to make a fucking jensen blog. what a baby i love her so much))
I put googly eyes on my owl and I have never been more afraid
"I appreciate the help, but I’d like to try it on my own. When I give up, you can help me." As kind as he was, Wash was also a bit too stubborn for his own good.
Though Delta was right. He should’ve done that.
So without saying anything he followed his instructions before coming up with another problem. Sure the first and fifth ones were fine, but the seventh layer was still a wreck. Maybe if he tried to work on the ninth instead it might layer up, if he was lucky.
So he pulled the lock apart and set to work, still not as good as York supposedly was, and the simulator did go red several times, but he was trying.
"Hey, D," He said eventually, pointing to a strange area on the eighth layer. "What’s this going on here? It’s not anything I recognize."
Okay, then. Delta backed off, physically taking a step away, while keeping an eye on Wash's progress. He couldn't help the satisfied little smile when he realised his advice was being followed. Only a matter of time. Ten seconds? No, Wash was too stubborn for that. It would be at least twenty.
Ah yes, the satisfaction of knowing he was right. Delta approached again.
"--Do you know anything about the construction of holographic locks? Each one is unique, designed by their maker. As such, each level is tailored to a certain person's style of design. That's why when you gather information on all the locks made by a certain person or company and compare the data, it becomes easier to pick the lock as you familiarise yourself with the person's style. This particular lock design is based on a Nottingham.
"--I'm sure you're familiar with coding. Holographic locks are coded twice; first from the standard syntax, then through a secondary programming language, and ultimately, it becomes what we work with. Nottingham locks have a tendency to supplement the programming language with additional, parallel languages. It looks different because it was programmed in two languages, simultaneously, in a singular stream, which is what we're looking at. You need to separate them and work on resolving them at the same time."
"Relax, D," He smiled, fiddling with the hololock simulator in his hands. He had been working on it for a few hours now, trying to fix what York did wrong the last time he practiced. "I’m just messing around with it. I’m sure York won’t mind, especially since someone won’t tell him.”
"--You mean you-- ...If he asks, I'm not lying to him."
He had to admit he was curious as to how this would go. Delta peeked over Wash's shoulder.
"--...You need to bypass the algorithm on the third layer without triggering the trip on the seventh. That's what went wrong. Try reversing the polarity of the neutron flow."
"It would have been polite to let me sleep."
"--That would have violated the directive that was laid out for me when I was assigned to 'alarm clock duty'. I am merely performing the task to the best of my capabilities. Are you awake, Agent York?"
+recoveryxone
"--I don't know exactly what you're doing but it looks like a terrible idea. ...What are you doing?"
"I mean, you have access to my vitals so do you really need to ask that?"
"--It seemed more polite to ask."
——“Most times, yes. Other’s i could just yell and get him up, but eh. And yes we do when out resources are limited we work with what we have. Though, you did pick the right song.”
"--Do you find your technique to be effective? I had calculated that this song would indeed be more efficient in meeting the conditions of the directive, than a simple beeping noise, yes. It does seem that the more annoying stimuli are, the harder they are to ignore."
((soooooo as before, but with a slightly larger degree of confidence, if you go ahead and like this, i will...message you to see if you'd like to do something specific? vagueness is all well and good but y'know, y'gotta have variety))
((okAY WELL I HAVE EARPLUGS SO B E D. THIS WAS FUN I HAVE ENJOYED OUO coughreplieswhenigettothemetc <33333))
——“Well isn’t he smart. Should of known better and no— I don’t have alternative suggestions for you. You don’t have a body. Usually I’d say jump on him or throw stuff at him, but that’s me.”
"--Interesting. Is this your preferred technique? Unfortunately, we must make do with the resources at our disposal."
