Olga Hepnarova - The last woman executed in Czechoslovakia.
Olga Hepnarova was a young, Czechoslovak woman which carried out one of the country's most infamous attack. On the 10th of July 1973, she drove her truck onto the sidewalk, ramming into a group counting around 30 people. The attack killed 8 people and injured 12 more.
Before the attack, Olga sent letters to newspapers explaining her situation and stating, that society had rejected and mistreated her. She was bullied and mocked relentlessly ever since she was a kid, causing her to develop psychiatric problems. This manifested in problems with communication and keeping relationships. Olga attempted suicide in 1964 by overdosing on her medication.
During her trial, she made it clear that her intention was to kill as many people as possible, to get revenge on society. She seemed to have no remorse for her actions.
On April 6th 1974, Olga was sentenced to death by the city court after she insisted on it. After a few psychiatric examinations, she was deemed responsible for her actions, even though she showed clear signs of a personality disorder.
She was executed on the 12th of April 1975 by short-drop hanging. Hepnarova was the last woman executed in Czechoslovakia, and one of the last using short-drop hanging. It is unaware how she acted before her death; whether she was calm, or hysterical.
Thank you for your time, I really recommend looking into her case, as it's incredibly interesting. I could talk about it for days, lol
If anyone would like a more informative post about for ex. her childhood, please let me know. I'd love to make one.

Walking the dog
The Emsdetten Massacre ---
Brief introduction:
On the 20th of November 2006, 18 year old former student Sebastian Bosse carried out an attack on his high-school. At approximately 9:20 AM, Bosse drove to and entered his school dressed in a trench coat and black gas mask, carrying concealed weapons. The attack lasted around an hour, before he most probably committed suicide by gun.
The attack:
Upon his entrance, he started to carelessly fire at his first victim; the school janitor, who was severely shot in his stomach. Shortly after, he threw a homemade smoke-bomb at a female teacher following the cleaner, hitting her in the face. After setting foot in the building, Sebastian fired several shots and wounded seven students. He then proceeded to barricade himself in the school and set off more smoke bombs, resulting in respiratory problems for 28 officers. At 9:34 AM the police arrived, but found entrance unmanageable. Twenty minutes later a special task force made their way into the school and searched it, leading to the discovery of Sebastian's lifeless body and multiple awaiting bombs. It is unaware if Bosse passed due to a self-inflicted wound to the head, or to the detonation of an explosive.
Summary:
The whole attack lasted almost an hour and resulted in one death (the perpetrator) and 37 injuries. Luckily, all of the victims made a quick recovery. His motive was misanthropy and revenge against his school.
Thank you for reading, I hope you enjoyed:)) I apologise for any mistakes as I made this on the bus home. If you have any questions, feel free to ask.
Abu Ghraib torture and prisoner abuse
The Abu Ghraib scandal came to light in around April 2004, where leaked photographs and videos exposed the brutality of occupation forces in Iraq. It remains one of the most widely documented human rights offence of the 21st century. The case is characterised by its intense psychological and physical torture, sexual abuse and dehumanization of innocent humans.
A little backstory:
Located just outside Baghdad, Iraq, the Abu Ghraib facility was intentionally a prison, known for the torture and execution of 'rebels' under the dictatorship of Saddam Hussein. Soon after the 2003 invasion it was repurposed as an U.S. detention center, with the intention to hold thousands of Iraqi detainees, ranging from civilians to wanted criminals.
The photographs:
The photos leaked are incredibly interesting and unusual, as they don't appear as professional documentation, but quite the opposite. The images were taken using early consumer digicams, giving the photographs a careless and trophy-like vibe. Guards are seen posing besides beaten, hooded and mistreated prisoners, stacking them into so called 'dog piles' and forcing them into stress positions.
Consequences:
In result of the reports of their cruel behaviour, eleven lower-level soldiers were convicted of dereliction of duty, maltreatment and assault. However, the defence argued. Official reports, such as the Taguba Report, claimed that the guards were working in a dysfunctional environment. Military police was encouraged to soften up detainees to make them more cooperative during interrogation. While the lower-ranking guards served some time in prison, higher ranking officials mostly escaped legal accountability, causing in lots of outrage and debates.
Images:
Abdou Hussain wrapped in cables and forced to stand on a box, whilst a guard carelessly clips his nails besides him. He was falsely told that if he stepped off, he would get electrocuted.

Thank you for reading:)) Im currently hyperfixated on this case and want more people to know about it. This post was made for educational purposes.
