"Kids don't grow up in Palestine". This is not a new video, this was taken by Jad Ibrahim who interviews Palestinians amd hears their stories. Listen to this child, no one should ever grow up having this mindset, living in constant state of anticipating their own death.

This goes for every single Palestinian, in every city, not just people in gaza.

Israel has been attacking Palestine three nights in a row. First by raiding Masjid Al-Aqsa during prayers and now Israeli forces are launching air strikes on the Gaza strips for a second night.

Don’t forget how they stop Christian Palestinians from traveling to their holy sites as well.

Can you imagine the news coverage and world wide outrage had any other government sanctioned such violence against another other specific ethnic group while they are in observance of a holy time?

The selective blindness when it comes to the apartheid and ethnic cleansing of Palestine is morally abhorrent and sickening. Ya Allah may all Palestinians see freedom in this lifetime.

the thing about my liberation notes is that if you can’t relate to the characters, you probably won’t like this drama. you will probably think it’s a downer and everyone just sits around moping about their lives when it’s actually a very realistic portrayal of a generational problem of feeling isolated and feeling like you’re not doing anything in your life, you’re not going anywhere when everyone around you seems to move forward. you live day to day and you have your moments but it ultimately just isn’t ENOUGH. you’re not unhappy but you’re not happy either, you’re just existing and bored and growing more and more frustrated because nothing ever fucking happens and everything is mundane and superficial. the drama is about this feeling. and if you don’t feel that existential dread every day, you won’t get it.

Learn to forgive yourself

Your past and distant self, every mistake and misstep. This world teaches us that our errors are unforgivable. It is only an error if you have not learned from it. Every lesson is a step toward growth and healing. But a lesson cannot appear out of anything. It stems from our faults and without our faults we have nothing to learn and gain in life. We have nothing to prove to Allah.

Self-forgiveness مَغْفِرَةٌ; You have learned to be better, to be wiser and prudent. You at least owe that to yourself.

There’s this quote that stuck to me ever since I read it, “be the kind of soul that others wish they could meet you a thousand times”.

الترجمة الصحيحة: ‏كن الروح التي يتمنى الآخرون مقابلتها ألف مرة.

To be the best of who you are, your heart and soul, for everyone that crosses your path. Be simplistic and powerful with your words, be meaningful in your actions, have purity in every intention you make. With Allah ‎in my heart, I want to make sure others see that first before they meet with me and that in itself is empowering in the most humble way.

I don’t want to leave a mark in this world. Allah already has.
