Evening, Chief

“Do you know why I pulled you over?” Jim Hopper asked, looking through the car window.

“Do I have a tail light out, Chief?” You ask, leaning out to meet his gaze. The shadow from his hat made his eyes hard to see, but the smile that played around his mouth was clear.

“No. You were speeding. Any idea how fast you were going?”

“Let’s see. The speed limit is 50, so 55-60?”

Jim grinned and relaxed his stance. “57. Any reason to be speeding tonight?”

“My boyfriend and I are both late getting home, and I was trying to beat him there so I could guilt him about it.” You said, resting your forearms on the window.

Jim nodded and bent down to kiss you, his hat knocking against the door frame. The first few kisses after spending the day apart were usually intense and hungry. This one was no different.

“Get home safe, baby. I’m right behind you.”

If only. Breathless with sudden want, you nodded. “See you at home, Jim.”
