Here We Go Again
Once his apology had been said, there was really no telling where things would go. He knew that they dneeded to be officially past itall. Once and for all. They deserved to really be free from unnecessary and stupid things that just didnât belong in their life anymore. Mason knew he was wrong for having lost his temper because of an insignificant letter sent by someone even more insignificant. Whatever came after the kiss, a kiss he had been longing for since the day the issue had started, Mason would approach it carefully. He was a bit eager but after the five days, if he didnât take her in at least that much, he would surly go crazy. Not only was it because he missed the feeling of her lips against his, but their physical actions sometimes did a lot more talking than they verbally did. That was always one thing that Mason was glad that they had, sometimes it was the only way that he could tell her how he felt about her. âI missed you,â he said after they pulled apart, knowing that she would understand what he meant. They may have been in the same house but their distance with each other had been difficult to deal with. âYou have no idea how much.â
Maybe it was cruel of her to have taken this long to break down the barrier between them; god knows Mason was incapable of doing it himself. But this time, they both were upset. For their own reasons, yes, but it was a mutual issue. It felt reminiscent of a time long before, when they would create a distance between them to deal with feelings that didn't know how to handle. It was immature of them then, and it was even moreso now. There were no petty arguments for the sake of getting each other worked up, but Diana was convinced that the silence and cold shoulders may have been even worse. As he spoke, a small smile found her lips. After so many years, she finally had no reason to doubt the truth to his words. He had missed her terribly, and she understood because she felt the same. She cupped his cheek with her palm, trailing her fingers across the scruff that lingered there that she had come to love. He was telling her he missed her, welcoming her back into his arms without caveat; this in itself spoke volumes of how far they'd come. "I know you did," she told him, not letting his gaze slip from hers for even a moment. "I don't think I tell you enough that you are all I ever wanted. Do you know that? I'd run to hell and back for you. You mean everything to me, and you are most important." She kissed him again, this time lightly, almost as though their lips barely brushed. "I love you and only you. I never knew real love until you came into my life. Don't ever feel worried because you weren't my first, because you will always be my last, and that is so much more important."
