I'm scared... To open up to someone new. To like someone again.
Ever felt alone in a room full of ppl? Ever felt like you have no one to talk to with a phoneboo full of contacts? Yea that's me. This is the most alone I've felt in my 24 and half years of life. Well actually scratch that, I've always felt alone. Might just be acknowledging it now... I mean don't get me wrong...I have ppl that love me. But those same ppl aren't ready to handle or care enough to care about what it going through. The pressure placed on my life by the grown ups in my life place me in an alone place. The standards I have for myself also place me in a lonely place. Not knowing who will care enough to listen places me in a lonely place also.
The other day I was thinking...who am I? Let me rewind a little. A couple of months ago, a youth leader asked each of us who are you? I didn't have a honest answer then and I'm still trying to answer until this day. I do however know that I am a child of God and I know that he calls me his own. But when asked that question I started thinking of what other ppl thought of me. Growing up my aunts and uncles always introduced my sisters and I as the kids who parents died and who they stepped in as Heros to take care of us {rolls eyes}. If you were to ask anyone from my childhood who I was they would say the skinny quiet church girl. In middle school I was the girl who wore uniform in a school that didn't require uniform. For half of high school I was the girl who wore long skirts with the flyest coach shoes. After that I was the fly quiet church girl. In college I was the overly friendly girl who could dress. And now I'm the bougey nurse who's over the top and makes money. I however can't identify as any of those things because I believe to know yourself you must know where you came from. I didn't know neither of my parents so that's out the window. And through most stages that I mentioned prior I was grieving and being abused mentally and emotionally and physically but praise the Lord, I made it out. I mean I could give a basic answer like I'm a sister, a cousin, a person trying to walk the right path to get to heaven but I mean I believe there's something deeper. It bothers me because for so many years of my life my identity was attached to something that reckoned sympathy and grief. (And brownie points for the Haitians...I appreciate them for every single thing they've done but honestly who would want to always be introduced as the kids with no parents.) I'm rambling but whatever. Honestly like I even remember my first line of my college essay was and I quote "my name is blah blah blah and I am a orphan. Both of my parents passed when I was younger". And the rest of the essay was basically a sob story. Like even in my college essay I indentified it as that. Might as well just end this post now because I could continue on and on.
22 years without you...RIP š. Your youngin misses you oh so much.
...I just want to see you WIN. To win against everything society said that you would lose to. To win against every game that ppl deemed to difficult for you. To win and learn every lesson and remember what it was that you did that made you WIN. I just want you to be able to stand up one day and testify how you won and why you chose to WIN. .....I just want to see you WIN.
...the thing about losing someone is the fact that it's not easy. But while in church today I realized something important...realized something about Gods love. He loves us enough to bless us with ppl to show us his love through them. My uncle was an amazing person who knew all of the hardships my sisters and I faced but didn't treat as such. He loved us. Supported us. Was always there to share money even if you didn't ask. A true man...provided for everyone around him. Loved everyone around him. Supported everyone around him. Defended them too. So to a wonderful man...an exceptional man. Thank you. May you accept this thank you and all of the other thank you's that you may have never received.

āPeople always think they know other people, but they donāt. Not really. I mean, maybe they know things about them, like they wonāt eat doughnuts or they like action movies or whatever. But they donāt know what their friends do in their rooms alone at night or what happened to them when they were kids or if they feel fucked up and sad for not reason at all.ā

That moment when your heart palpitates after telling someone new something about yourself... I experienced something yesterday. I told the new guy in my life that I was a virgin. Problem is I was scared to do it. Problem is I wish I didn't have to do it. Problem is I looked at as a negative thing about me. You see for years on years on years the reactions I get for being a virgin has been very different. After telling a guy what I am...he'll immediately say you're lying. It's 2016. Then ask what's wrong with m. And then allude to there being another reason of being a Virgin. Then there's the guy that acts as if they're okay with it but only sticks around just to see if they could actually get anything from me to have a story to tell their friends. And last but not least there's the guy that just immediately stops texting and calling because sex is just a huge part of their life. But the reaction that I got last night was...different. I was actually praised for being a virgin. First guy I've ever talked to that didn't bombard me with questions as to why and different what's...first guy to call it beautiful. Problem is I'm still nervous for telling him. My heart is still palpitating because I feel as if those questions will come...
