Turning 34

Turning 34 was a bit difficult for me.   

I realized that my years of “the future is so unknown.  What’s going to happen?  Everything is so unpredictable” are lessening.  

Soon, I will know exactly what happened.

Beautiful big almond eye, realistic and full of expression as she gazes gently at you. Elbowed antennae and delicately segmented legs and body. Gorgeous pearlescent sheen like she is glowing. This ant moisturizes. This ant is round and huggable. This ant is a star. 11/10.

Beautifully detailed, lifelike pose but with an unexpected neck and odd antennae, perhaps scared straight. Her eyes suggest she has seen things. Her expression confirms she has seen too much. She is haunted and I want to know more. 7/10.

Floppy antenna, pointy muppet face, oddly posed legs. What is she? She has no waist. May be she is some kind of bee in disguise? I find her unsettling. 3/10.

This ant has an unexplained, double-jointed thorax, and no evidence of a waist. Her four-footed pose suggests that she a centaur rather than an ant. Centaur ants would be cool. I’m not sure what was intended here. 2/10.

Good first impression, kind of bland in the details. This ant has no particular waist to speak of, floppy rather than elbowed antennae, and an inexpressive face. Her color scheme is soft and hazy. I like the sharp angles of her stylishly sophisticated legs. This ant may not know quite were she is going, but she knows how she is getting there. 6/10.

Gasp! This ant is elegant. This ant has a beautiful tapered thorax, a segmented abdomen, alert, elbowed antennae, and a light-footed pose. This ant’s face suggests curiosity and a desire to explore the world. This ant inspires me. I want to be like her. 10/10

3-legged, waistless centaur-ant with strange, limp antennae and a beak. I don’t know what this is? It kind of reminds me of a Hork-Bajir. 1/10, not an ant.

This ant… makes me sad. All of her legs are broken. The MS Paint art style and gradient abuse convey distress. She has a duck beak. Despite this, her expression suggests perseverance and determined cheerfulness. I want this ant to have a better life. I am rooting for her. 3/10

This ant is a bold and challenging mixture of photorealism and caricature. She is broad and low-built and seems very sturdy. She looks like she would help you move. This ant is a dependable friend. 9/10

An interesting, top-down view of an ant; her legs are positioned with slightly jarring symmetry.  Nevertheless, her overall impression is that of a graceful, stylized design, like a pictograph.  She is suitable for adorning fine garments and jewelry or perhaps gracing the walls of a tiny ant church.  I like this minimalist ant.  8/10.

Today has been an interesting day.

I had an accepted offer on a court ordered sale.   The contract was drawn up 1.5 months ago.  Today was the court date.  

I caused quite a frenzy because my accepted offer was about $80k off the original asking price and what the unit is probably worth.  I say “probably” because no one has actually seen it.  The tenant who is currently renting refuses to let the seller’s agent show it.  Even the guy who won the bid (a friend from highschool actually) has never seen it.  

So, for all we know, all the appliances could have already been removed.  It’s a court ordered sale... so it’s subject to no conditions and you kind of just get it “as is.”

Also, after analyzing the floorplan, we came to the conclusion that it’s really more of a bachelor suite than a 1 bedroom plus den. 

So, when the seller’s agent asked me if I wanted to put in a revised offer today, I politely declined.  Three times.  And then the judge asked me if I understood that I was unlikely to get the place.  I said I did.  I was mostly just curious to see how it all played out... that’s why I was there.

The first sealed bid the judge read out was already way over mine.  $570k.  The second sealed bid was for $569k.  The Korean woman who had put in the first bid smirked.  Milt and I looked at each other.  Like, why would you go $1k lower and not $1k higher...  you’d have to be a complete dumbass...  anyway.  I laughed out loud. 

Randy got it for $603k.   $30k over the next highest bid.  And, in my opinion, $25k too much.

There are other comparable units in that building selling for about $620k.   I’m sure that if he had offered $610k for any of those places, they would have entertained his offer and at least allowed him to VIEW the space.  He pretty much paid retail for a place he hasn’t even seen.

Anyway.  That was my day.

Birthdays and things

Birthdays are always a week-long event for me because it’s impossible to see everyone in one day.  My social circles are too spread out and like.. my dance friends just want to talk about dance.  My music friends just want to talk about music.  My ambulance friends are almost all ACP/CCP/Specialists now.  The ones who are in school just want to talk about school and there’s always plenty of work stuff to talk about because the service includes 3000 people and everyone seems to know each other.     It would be different if all my friends are well-rounded individuals buuut they’re not.

I actually had a big May babies birthday celebration with dance peeps last week.  Sheena’s birthday is earlier this month.  Jeet’s bday is a few days after mine.   Lots of May babies.  

Anyway, actual bday consisted of food, parties, bday cake, and bday sex.  Had some cuddle and sexytimes with the boyfriend before going to my sister’s for my birthday dinner.  Went to Kayden’s for some beers and chills after dinner at my sister’s.  And then went to Studio after that.

New hair!

I’ve been low-key dating someone and I’m not ready to talk about it.   

I dropped all my side baes for him and the exes keep checking up on my relationship status.  

Yes, I’m still dating him.  No, I’m not 100% sure about him.  No, my parents don’t know.  We’re still figuring us out, it’s way too soon to involve other people.  WAY TOO SOON.

I’m dating him because he’s great.  And we’ve agreed to just take it day by day.  I’m keeping quiet about it because I want to take my losses privately if we don’t work out.  

I’m still taking photos and capturing our happy moments, but just not posting them anywhere.  

I can’t tell if I used to be naive or if I’m just jaded now.  But I’m not that same girl that my exes dated, and I’m very perplexed by how much one particular ex wants me.  Like, bro... every time you tell me you’re still in love with me, what i hear is “I’m in love with who you used to be” because i am so, so, SO, so not her anymore.  I don’t know if I’ve changed for better or for worse, but I might as well be a different person.
