fat-free, and no nuts in it.”
“I can do no nuts, but sweetie, cookies and cakes are no good without fat and sugar.” she informed her, motioning to the large case full of sweets. “I’m gonna forgive you for that and ask again what you’d like.”
“Ugh, Moooom. This is pretty much the only time of the year when I can dress up like a hooker and not be mistake for one. Why deprive society of this masterpiece?”
“Don’t mom me! Why on earth would you want to go out looking like a hooker? Are you hoping someone ropes you into one of the brothels they’re running in this city?”
Serena offered a grin before grabbing the plate. She took one of the macaroons and took a big bite from it, her eyes nearly rolling back in her head. She didn’t cook or bake, and Ryan wasn’t that great either. But she could eat everything from Dianna’s bakery everyday. “Better start making extras then. You know ho much I love these things. Do you have any of those lemon cupcakes you had the other day? Those were good to.”
Dianna laughed at her reaction, always glad to see someone that appreciated her baking. “I’ll make sure and tell my workers to start adding another dozen to their list every day.” she said with a nod and a wink. She’d bake them herself if it meant Serena would keep stopping by, she was more than willing if it meant she got to check in with those she cared about. “You know, more and more people are asking about those, I think I’ll have to make it a regular item here.” she mused, then gestured to the kitchen. “Why don’t you make yourself useful and help me out, we’ll make some right now.” she encouraged, heading towards the back since the shop was empty.
“You know I do. Plus, not liking your baking is like not liking puppies. Totally impossible.”
“Now that’s the right way to get yourself free cookies.” she joked with a smile, winking at her as she pointed to the plate of cookies she’d just brought out from the kitchen.
“Come on, you know I do! Now where are those macaroons I love.”
Dianna laughed and nodded, “Why am I not surprised to see you in here?” she asked playfully, bending down to reach into the shelves and grabbing some of the sweets. “I’m going to have to start baking extras if you keep this up.” she teased, handing her a small plate full of macaroons.
“If you’re in my shop you better have a real sweet tooth, darling.”
“What do you mean that this isn’t a great Halloween costume? I thought I looked fantastic.”
“Well...define ‘fantastic’.” she offered, eyeing the girl. “If fantastic is showing off that much skin, then sure.”
“So, for Halloween, do you think I should go slutty or nah?”
“I’m gonna go with definitely nah. You can hold yourself to a little higher esteem, don’t you think?”

↳THE PAST
Dianna had always been in the business of claiming things as her own. From the moment she was born, her mother claimed that she had sticky fingers, for Dianna would pick up anything that interested her. She had an innocent face and so, it was easy for people to believe her when she was lying. Dianna took anything she took an interest in for herself and if anyone dared to question it, all she had to do was turn on the charm and act innocent. But she did not realize that her art for theft would determine her future. Dianna ended up involved with the Jokers at a rather young age and it was there that she met Dominic. Nine months later and she gave birth to his child and Dianna couldn’t have been more unhappy. She hated Dominic to his very core even if she did fuck him rather regularly, but when they found out they were having Dahlia, they had to make a choice. They got married out of obligation and the want to raise their daughter in what could potentially be a normal home among the shit storm that was their life. Dianna did it for her daughter, and to this day she still isn’t sure whether or not she made the right decision.
↳ THE PRESENT
Now a reluctant wife, Dianna has rose high in the ranks over the past ten years and has been the Capo of thieves, cons and informants in that time. She knows that a few of the Romono children have a problem with it not being one of them, but Dianna trusts Daniella’s judgement and she knows that she can handle the job. The only thing she hadn’t been completely sure about was moving to Wonderland and getting in between already established mobs. But after many fights with Dom about it and Dahlia saying she was interested in seeing Chicago, Dianna gave in and told Daniella that the Reeds would stand behind her in Wonderland. Dianna has become quite the mother hen since having her daughter, and so she generally does care for the employees that report to her like she would her old daughter. While she is quite stern the majority of the time, she is also a major caregiver and she gets jealous quite easily. Now in Wonderland, Dianna is looking for a fresh start and to find some happiness in her personal life. She has spent years taking care of everyone but herself, and Dianna is tired of being second best.
↳ CONNECTIONS
Daniella Romono ◆ Close Friend: The pair have fooled around in the past, but their relationship will always be a friendship before anything else. Dianna can easily relate to Daniella and she has total trust in the woman.
Dominic Reed ◆ Husband: From the moment they met, they were fighting each other and still do to this day. She hated his guts and the only reason she was with him was for the sake of their daughter.
Vivianne Spade ◆ Old Rival: Many years ago, the two of them clashed while Dianna was in Wonderland and she has not forgotten about it. They have a score to settle, and Dianna isn’t going to sit around and wait for it to happen.
Charlotte Diamond ◆ Annoyance: Dianna could not stand how cynical Charlotte was, nor did she trust her after she betrayed her sisters. Dianna was especially suspicious of Char, and she wasn’t going to accept her until she knew where Charlotte’s true loyalties lie.
