“You know, it just makes me so angry, that people can just so suddenly stop putting effort into friendships, or relationships. How hard is it to drive on a two-way street?! How can people think it’s alright to put someone through the headache and heartache of slowly losing someone they thought was their best friend. Honestly, she doesn’t know the definition of the word. Because this definitely not what best friends do to one another!! I don’t deserve to be treated like this! I did nothing wrong! I was a good friend. I put in the effort I did what best friends are suppose to do, and in the end I’m the one that’s left hurt, again... I don’t understand why this has happened to me again! Do i have some sort of time quota and after a certain amount of time my current best friend has to just up and disappear from my life. I just don’t understand why this has happened to me again. I don’t deserve this.
Over the last few months she has been the worst best friend I never asked for. After all the stuff that happened last year you would think she would at least have the heart to postpone her departure till a more suitable time. But I guess some people aren;t as overly concerned with their friends feelings as someone might expect. And it hurts to lose so much and discover things you wish were not true, and it just makes you wonder what you did to the universe to be entitled this much pain and stress in one year. But I guess that’s just being an adult, and well, being an adults sucks!”

“Sometimes you don’t deserve everything you get, but you get it anyway.”
You can either look at this with a pessimistic view or an optimistic view, whichever way you look at it, they’re both true.

"Sometimes things unfold in a way you least expect. People come and go from your life, some mean more to you than others. Some hurt more when they leave. But you know what they say, one door closes two more open. London here I come!" Nurse #2

“Experience is priceless. Being on nursing placement has taught me so much and opened my eyes to so many things. It is such a relief to be doing something and knowing that I’ve made the right choice. Choosing your career path is a bit like falling in love, I think. You’ll know when it’s wrong, you’ll know when it’s right. Right now, I know that I’ve made the best decision possible choosing and pursuing nursing, and that’s one of the best feelings in the world!!”

"I don't think I have ever felt more nervous than I did this morning. I can scarcely remember a time when my heart pounded so violently and rapidly. Waiting in that room to begin my OSCE was a moment I don't think I will ever forget. At different intervals in your life, you feel your heart race, sometimes it’s a good feeling but sometimes, like this morning, it is a feeling you hope to never experience again. I don't think the fear of failing has ever overcome me that much before. The relief of having passed barely outweighed the daunting feelings I had prior to the examination. I was so happy to have passed, and to have received the praising feedback I did, but I am saddened to say I don't think the post happiness superseded the pre anxiety. But, all in all, I am thrilled to have passed! Only have to pass my placement now and I can kiss first year goodbye."

"Isn't it amazing how truly scared we can find ourselves to face certain obstacles in our academic lives. I have my first practical exam (OSCE) for nursing tomorrow and I am so scared of failing. Not so much because I don't want to have to do it again, but more so because I feel like if I fail, it will be a sign telling me that maybe I'm not cut out to be a nurse like I thought, and that really scares me. I've been so happy and interested in this course all year long, and haven't felt fear like this about any assessments before now. I want to pass tomorrow, not just so I pass the subject, but I believe it will be a confirmation of sorts, an indication that I am meant to do this and I am doing the right thing. We're made to decide so many things regarding our lives when we're so young, it's hard to know if you’ve made the right decision. Last year I made the wrong decision, I just hope that in my exam tomorrow, I can prove to myself that I have made the right decision this year."

"Studying is not fun. Learning is fun. Learning is exciting, enjoyable and illuminating. The amount of knowledge that can be gained, information that can be discovered and facts that can be confirmed always makes me go back for more. It is not studying that is important, it is learning, understanding. Studying is about remembering as much information as you can for a short period of time only so you can, pass an exam or a test. Learning is about understanding processes and retaining important information. Being able to relate one piece of information back to another and understand how the both influence and affect each other. Learning is more than just remembering, and that is what I love about it. I love understanding things, and being able to relate ideas and facts to each other, and see how they are useful. Understanding diseases and drugs, the pharmacology and pathophysiology behind aspirin or dementia. Comprehending the "complex multistep process" of carcinogenesis or the substantial impact inflammation has on the initiation of asthmatic symptoms. Learning is a wonderful experience that one can always expand on. Learning is incomparable to anything else. Learning is not studying."
