Srry this took so long to post, this specific drawing was done a while ago but I was trying to get all the character drawings done at once, but thats gonna take too long. So look out for those in the future hopefully! <33333

Ok so I’m kinda thinking abt this Hello Dolly! Raggedy Ann au. If u don’t know what Hello Dolly! is, it’s a musical set in 1890s New York starring Barbra Streisand! It’s also more known as the musical featured in Wall-E🩷🩷🌼🌼

Of course there are other important plot lines in the musical, but for this au I just wanna focus on the storyline between Barnaby & Cornelius and Irene & Minnie

Hello Dolly! Plot(well, some of it):

Barnaby and Cornelius are a few poor store clerks who yearn for just one day of excitement, so they venture away from their posts and on a train to New York w/ all their money ($3.00).

Irene and Minnie are hat shop workers who also want adventure. So B&C pretend to be rich and famous, ask I&M out on a date, and go to the fanciest restaurant in NY w/out spending a dime! But of course their plan runs into some complications, if u wna know the whole story i really suggest watching the movie :D

I felt like these main characters in Hello dolly! (Barnaby & Cornelius) were just so perfect as Raggedy Ann & Andy. Barnaby is soft spoken, hard working, and excitable, which I thought kinda fit Ann. Cornelius is an adventure seeker, and a dreamer, who wants to live life away from his mundane job, so I thought this fit Andy too.

I’m working on a couple animations for the Raggedy characters so this will deff make things a bit easier instead of constantly looking back at the movie while animating

Did you know his shirt switches from a button up to a sweater based on who’s animating him?

The Dolls are pretty simple so I won’t need a turnaround to do for them I think, other than Babette! She’ll most likely be next because of her wonderfully unique but hard to draw design 🩷🩷🌼🌼

The small story behind this one is that Belindy was brought with Mercella on a trip to the Beach

Ofc when they get back Marcella forgets her in the car and thinks she lost her.

The next morning Marcella’s Dad finds her under a seat and brings her back

However, Ann had already set out on an adventure to find her

One thing leads to another and they finally find each other in the playroom again

This was basically how I thought they would reunite ☀️

So basically just more Ann and Belindy I had in my sketchbook

I love them lots or whatev
