chiromantic:
always back to here. –
he’s made so many foreign homes, though this one feels the closest he’s ever going to get to one.
min’s all lazy eyes and limbs in the midst of smoky incense filtering through the blinds. brushing back a kind ajumma’s hair from aged skin, it’s tucked behind an ear, smiling softly through the CANDIED vapour in his lungs.
gingerly tracing the warm skin, he does it with a practised ease exposed; the lines that dip beneath her nose as he recites only what he can see and sense when he looks upon her face. not too much money in the bank, but she has a lot of heart and a well-taught mind, a tiny bit of heart break evident in her irises. min senses that in a lot of people, though. hands arise to sharpened cheekbones, not as aged as the rest of her and gently whispers about how the years have been kind to her. it’s only upon the clock chiming that he knows the session is up, bowing 90 degrees to the woman as she stands and fists out way more money than he asked of her this session - as she proceeds to do every session.
‘ thank you for your service, you’ve a l w a y s been a valued customer. oh.. and don’t forget to remember that he’s always with you, okay ? ’ he says, forgets, and repeats five minutes later. as he sees her to the door and watches her leave, another headache takes over his mind, making him grab for the nearest surface swallowing his second painkiller of the day. it’s only ten am, his mind reminds him, but before min has the chance to worry about potentially overdosing on over the counter pills, the charms above the entrance are chiming, signalling another presence in the dimly-lit shop. ‘ ah.. WELCOME to byeol. have you arranged a consult with myself prior or.. ? ’
soo yong breathes in deeply, a smile on his face as the sun’s rays brush against his skin. it’s lovely weather in the city of seoul. not cold, but definitely not too hold by any standard. the light jacket he’s wearing is more than enough coverage from the slight breeze that’s blowing through his hair. he reaches up a hand and runs his fingers through it, trying to brush it back into place. he spent a while on his hair that morning and there’s no way in hell he’s about to let his hard work go to waste.
it’s still early in the morning, so there’s little to no gang activity going on - at least, nothing that interests him. he much prefers to work in the dark of the night, finding it easier to slip away from an assignment unnoticed. of course he can off his target at anytime of the day with no issue, but everyone has their preferences, right?
besides, as long as his phone doesn’t go off, the phone he uses for work related dealings, he’s free to do whatever he likes, and he plans on doing just that. despite his enjoyment of inflicting, and sometimes even receiving, pain and torture, he does like to enjoy the pleasant things in life from time to time. especially nature and animals. there’s something precious and gentle about it all that even he wouldn’t disturb. for the most part.
footsteps falter as contact lens covered eyes rest on a shop - one that they’ve seen on multiple occasions. byeol. soo yong’s never been. he always just barely registers it every time he walks through this neighborhood, not really giving it a second thought, but maybe he should this time. with that thought, his feet are moving in the direction of the shop and he’s pushing the door open. immediately he’s greeted with incense and a dim room. and a voice. “oh, hello,” he looks at the man, a charming smile on his lips. “no, i haven’t arranged anything, i just noticed your shop while i was walking down the street and decided to walk inside.. what exactly is this shop anyway?”
