Magic: the Gathering - Shadowmoor critters Several creatures appearing in Shadowmoor are borrowed from mythical creatures from the British Isles and further afield in Western Europe.  A Bogle (boggart, bögge) appears sometimes as a mischievous folklore spirit, the Kelpie a type of Celtic mermaid / waterhorse, and the Nogle a more dryland cousin of the Kelpie all have roots within one or more cultures.  Shadowmoor style guide concept art by Richard Whitters.
