"I don’t- I don’t really need a new one, it does it’s job. Not well, mind you.” Eh, he had a free hand. Might as well try pulling the shirt back into place now that he knows people are looking. “It’s still a shirt, a short one. Something is better than nothing, I think.”

Wheatley would never truly understand his brainmap, she was a strange, strange woman. Not unlikable, though. “You sure?”

Yeah, definitely a strange lady.

"Of course! They can’t ignore this one, the other scientists. It’ll be the result of true genius, and they can’t turn something down if we did it already. In fact, I bet they’ll thank us for showing them how it’s done." The arm around her shoulder? Gave her a half hug alongside one of those ‘still not sure how faces work’ smiles. "Not sure if it’s possible to hit perfection twice, but if anyone can it’s you."

"Better than nothing, of course." she would like to protest this fact, "Of course.." there was a little giggle of appreciation and held her clipboard at the ready and slid a pen from the clip.

"Alright! .. Heh, you're such a flatterer- Okay, now. The most important aspect of any construct is purpose. Without a purpose it will only be a boring shell." Iliza leaned into him while chewing on the pen in thought, "I'm almost certain we do not need anymore fail-safe constructs, we capped out with your success."

"Whatever we do decide on definitely won't be as great as you. Impossible."

'No, not that I can think of. Everything's running just fine, still feeling ship-shape. Can't improve perfection. My clothes? Also fine, maybe a little short in the, ah, shirt department.” The arm-over-shoulder also had the effect of pulling the garment up ever so slightly, effectively neutralizing his attempts to pull it back down. 

"You feeling alright? Looking a little, red. Not- not that red isn’t a good color or anything!" Why was he even defending the color? "I mean you- brainstorming? Me? I’d be happy to, love! You know me, I come up with some of the best ideas. Only the absolute greatest."

The dropped clipboard earned a slight flinch. “Not as, ah, not brilliant as yours, though.

"You sure?? If you need a better shirt; which by the way, looks amazing on you if I do say so myself." and shirts that accidentally show off a little skin when you stretch? Totally okay in her books. She was even making an obvious attempt to take a peek.

The redness grew when she was caught and she shook her head with a pretty forced giggle, or unstoppable giggle. Somehow she tried to play it cool, "F-fine! Just grrrrreat!"

More compliments, oh my oh my oh my. Maybe she did a little too well with Wheatley.. Iliza hugged the clipboard to keep it under control.

"Yes! Me and you, two amigos, two great minds. We'll make the second-best construct this company has ever seen! I'll.. even let you name it." she smiled politely, resisting any urges to start squealing.

"4:38AM?" that did catch her interest, "That’s an unusual time." as if checking what normal would be, she began to flip through the mound of papers on her clipboard. Are there rules? Probably not. It was just a strange variation to her and she of course wanted to know the reason for it.

"Wheatley’s diagnostics are always on time, at each quarter. Then again he’s a newer model.."

"My diagnostics normally ran at six o’clock, Eastern Standard Time. However they’ve reset as of late since my last visit to the reassembly machine. I don’t mind the time at all, really." She explained, adjusting her spectacles.

"Are you the designer for Wheatley’s model?"

"The reassembly machine?" more digging through papers in dire need of straightening, "I usually keep up with any repairs, that is- Ah! Here we are.. " pushes her glasses into place, "Head trauma. Blunt force.." she failed at hiding her curiosity and was about to ask how that even went about but Morality just had to go and mention Wheatley.

"Ah! Yes yes, that's me! Iliza Wright." proud and boastful, "Isn't he just splendid? Did mighty fine by that one."

"Hey, Aperture Science Personality Construct numbah zero-zero-one.” she, mocked? Was she mocking your name? Seems to sound a little spiteful, but for some reason she’s still smiling. Maybe it was jealousy?

Nothing knew here.

She shuffled her papers a bit, talking as if it was all routine, “And how are we doing today?”

That was an odd tone. Spite was something she did recognize from GLaDOS… But, best not bring it up to a new human. Wouldn’t want to get whacked in the head again, would we?

Better to just be polite. That was the right thing to do, after all.

"Greetings, Aperture Employee. Diagnostics have not indicated any abnormalities in function as of 4:38AM." She responded matter-of-factly.

He made his best attempt at understanding the gobblety gook, but didn’t manage much of anything in terms of understanding. The issue was remedied with a nod of mock understanding.

"They’re lazy, I think. And jealous. Don’t want to do any actual work, ignoring any bright young mind that has any idea better than theirs." An arm was thrown around her shoulder in what he thought of as a friendly gesture. "Your ideas? Only the greatest. Best of the best, I should know. That one? Probably amazing. You’re under appreciated."

She was just about to agree with him about what he said in regards to the scientist but her thoughts suddenly crashed and burned the moment he threw an arm around her. And then the compliments.

Oh gosh-

"Y-yeah!" twenty shades of red, at least. God, what a perfectly awesome, super smart, hot, adorable, squishy man! She sighed dreamily, "Do, do you need repairs? Or u-updated clothing? Or upgraded anything?" rattles off ideas that would require him NOT leaving her side, "You could help me brainstorm. A new construct." 

Could totally program a love child here.. Think of the pinchable cheeks, the perfectly scruffy head of hair, that accent, those eyes..

She shivered with delight and almost dropped the clipboard, suddenly grasping for it just in time.

"What do ya' s-say?"

"H-hey!" so much circling- oh, nearly tripped on that gosh-danged perfectly leveled floor, "Lookin’ good, if I do say so myself." Iliza straightened her glasses quickly, "Okay, so." a quick check through the mound of disheveled papers on her clipboard and she resumed, "I’ve gone over the latest reports and.. yes, yes, look at that. Still the greatest construct when it comes to ah, all sorts of very important lists. You know. I shouldn’t need to explain them. Not to you."

"Just don’t tell anyone, those other constructs are so self-conscious."

"Hello!" The android turned in little circles to follow her progress, only avoiding dizziness by sheer virtue of being robotic. "Thank you very much! Feeling good, too, if that matters much." When she stopped, though, it still took a few moments for him to stop spinning.

"Sounds accurate, very accurate. No need to explain, no no." Wheatley leaned in to peek at the papers. "You’ve been well, have you? Doing science and all that?"

"Of course it matters. We can't our brightest star feeling down, now can we?" she beamed and hugged the overloaded clipboard, then lowered them for his prying eyes. The top page had a weird assortment of tiny notes surrounding more tiny notes and little sketches.

"Well, I would be doing more science if those bafoons down in programming would listen to my ideas." Her face fell for a moment, only to take on a more angry-confident sneer, "I tried to get some input on my latest construct, but they just wouldn't have it. I don't even NEED a map! Imagine that! Personality constructs, without the personalities. How much of a time-saver is that?!"

She sighed, almost dreamily as she leaned in, nearly toppling over to gaze up at him, "You understand me though, don't you." she pouted, then jokingly nudged, "Working on the uh, same brain length and all."
