Interrupting your daily scheduled programming for something no-one asked for
Had a bit of a painting break. Heres one of my pieces(「`・ω・)「
Image description: My motivation when my drawings get 23 likes and reposters get hundreds.
Art Black Out April 15th
The idea is that on April 15th - World Art Day - artists only post black images to draw awareness to something people take as given: a steady stream of visual content on their dashes.
We are drawing attention to the ongoing issue of artists being disrespected and their art being stolen or reposted. Let’s make people aware of what the Internet would look like if artists stopped making art because they get discouraged or too scared to post for fear of having their work stolen.
For one day, let’s flood dashes everywhere with gaping black spaces where art is supposed to be.
HOW TO JOIN:
On April 15th post completely black images everywhere, on whichever platform it pleases you, and tag them with #artblackout.
Inform yourself on the issue of art theft, reposting and giving credit and spread the word!
That’s it, well done, and thanks for helping artists to stay motivated to create the awesome content they are giving the world every day.
An additional suggestion: reblog them with “I want this on a shirt/mug/etc” so all the art theft bots start selling merch with the stolen ‘art’
Please do.
Also now available:

For your convenience.
LET’S DO THIS THING!!
All art is art, whether you use colors or words or notes or pixels to create it. All art deserves to be appreciated.
If you’re a content creator yourself, art, fic, meta, photography, noodle installations, butter sculptures, whatever, amateur or professional,
if you’d like to support your friends who are, or
if you’d just like to support the project in general:
EVERYBODY IS WELCOME TO JOIN AND SUPPORT!
Art theft is a big issue at the best of times, but in the current situation giving credit where it’s due is even more important.
On any platform, post a black image on April 15th and tag it with #artblackout.
If you wish to watermark your art on April 15th, feel free to use this!

Here are a few templates for IMAGE DESCRIPTIONS you could use:
“Image description: a black rectangle, a metaphorical forecast of what the Internet would look like if artists stopped sharing content because they get discouraged or too scared to post for fear of having their work stolen, their art reposted, and their credit taken away.“
“Image description: insanely cute fanart the artist didn’t post after having their other work stolen.”
“Image description: utterly amazing photo that was never posted because the photographer stopped posting their work when their photos kept being reposted.”
Feel free to make up your own captions as well of course - it would be absolutely fantastic to see more along the lines of our templates <3

The problem:
The solution:
I’m glad you think so! Many other people who are well versed in politics thought so as well. Including MLK back in the 60s, 1000 leading economists in the early 70s, and Thomas Paine -one of America’s founding fathers- back in the 1700s.
And of course, most pertinent to this post: Presidential candidate for the Democratic party Andrew Yang.
You can check out his campaign at yang2020.com and more information about the benefits of the Freedom Dividend (and how to pay for it) at freedom-dividend.com
I also recommend checking out the subreddit r/YangForPresidentHQ
I posted this in another response, but for everyone asking “how will we pay for it?”, here you go:
The TL;DR is it’s a combination of a number of things:
A VAT on companies like Amazon that pay $0 in taxes
Money saved from decreased incarceration
Money saved from decreased homelessness
A carbon tax on polluters as well as taking away subsidies from the fossil fuel industry
New revenue from raised income and new business ventures that the dividend would fund
New revenue from an overall expansion of the economy that a more robust consumer-base and more educated population would create
Money saved from administrative costs on other welfare programs that would gradually shrink as people opt to get the dividend instead of them
Money saved on healthcare and law enforcement
You can find detailed answers at freedom-dividend.com.
Those are reasonable concerns, but they’re not well-founded.
The main causes of inflation, which is prices rising, are thus:
1. The government printing more money. This wouldn’t happen under the Freedom Dividend because as stated above, it’s funded by existing money, and not printed “out of thin air”.
2. Increases in the costs of manufacturing, which are then pushed on to consumers. While the new taxes could increase prices on certain goods that they apply to, $1000 a month in the hands of every American wouldn’t make manufacturing most things more expensive. Especially when more and more jobs don’t even require human workers, and are being automated (which is another reason why the Freedom Dividend should exist).
3. Supply not matching demand. This is especially relevant in the case of rent because the supply of homes in the US is actually quite large, but a lot of those homes are vacant because they’re too expensive. This creates a situation where there’re 5 times as many vacant homes in America than homeless people.
The reason for so many homes being vacant is that wages haven’t kept up with inflation in the prices of real estate and the economy at large, making many homes unaffordable to more and more people. Increasing everyone’s income would help remedy that disparity, opening up more homes to be purchased.
Combine this with Yang’s plan to crack down on restrictive zoning laws that prevent the construction of new homes, and the economic transformation that would occur in many towns thanks to the dividend, making them viable places to live, and rent prices might actually decrease.
Stories like these are exactly why the Freedom Dividend is so important.
There’re millions of stories just like this all over America and the world. Over 70% of Americans are living paycheck to paycheck. $1000 a month would be a turning point in their lives, giving them the freedom and relief they deserve.
yeaa. im having a lot of trouble finishing drawings

I need the money because I’m finally starting school and will probably be forced out of my mom’s place by next year. My tablet is also spazzy.
Pms always open for questions.
