As they practiced Kota slowly got back into the flow of fighting, it was kind of like riding a bike, you never really forgot how to react when someone was sending a punch or a kick in your direction. “I was born in a small town, spent most of my life there and then uh..” she trailed off not sure she wanted to talk about what happened “I guess we were kinda left with no choice but to move, so for the past few years I’ve lived in Denver” she answered with a small shrug of her shoulders. 

“I’m getting there” she answered and laughed, there was a lot of adjusting to do but she liked the town so far, everyone seemed kind and helpful. Dakota grinned slightly when he spoke again “Okay lets switch now, I wanna see some mad blocking skills” she joked before lowering her guarding arms to deliver a few punches in his direction. “A divorce lawyer huh?” she responded with interest “You must see a lot of drama in your line of work” she spoke almost as if it was a question. 

She enjoyed practicing with Diego as he seemed to be able to keep up with her better than most people she had sparred with before. “I wanted a break from the city and when a friend of mine offered me a good deal on some lab space out here I couldn’t say no” she answered smoothly tilting her head a little “I’m the CEO of Clearwater industries” she added, she knew a lot of people didn’t really know much about her company but she was proud of it.

Diego was actually kind of glad he asked Dakota to be his partner for the day and he was already enjoying their work out and he was soon out of worrying about going home. Nodding as he punched her hand, “Oh right well that sounds interesting. Oh Denver, I’ve never seen, is it a nice place?” He couldn’t help but ask, considering how much he traveled as a kid.

He nodded, “I’m sure you’ll be used to the town soon.” He smiled as he heard her statement and soon put his hands up to guard him self before making sure to keep in rhythm to her punches. Nodding, “Yeah a divorce lawyer. Yeah I do but it’s all part of the fun I guess.” He stated before laughing a little knowing he was thinking in his head that could be him and Ashley at some point and he really hoped it wasn’t.

Diego could feel the pressure of working alongside Dakota but either way he enjoyed it because it brought the challenge out what he needed more then he thought. He nodded, “Oh right well that makes sense, and well if ti was for a good reason then I don’t blame you. CEO sounds pretty good and high up, hat’s awesome.” He smiled, “What does your company do? If you don’t mind me asking.”

Comfortable hiking shoes enclosed her feet, her shorts and t-shirt obviously meant to endure in the warm summer weather. A hike, similar to the one she had gotten lost at the time Diego and Hana had met, was planned for the day. This time, Hana was sure not to get lost, knowing that Diego was a good navigator and she was now much more familiar with her surroundings as she had been back then. Watching the other approach her, Hana opened her arms to engulf him in a hug; one she probably needed more than he did. But she soon let go, forcing a smile on her lips. “Ready to go?”

Diego was ready to go hiking, it was something he really enjoyed and he would go on his own but when Hana offered to go hiking, of course he was going to say yes. He put his hiking boots on and made sure he was feeling comfortable with them on, he always knew long walks he always had to make sure he was comfortable. He walked towards where the girl had told him to meet her before seeing her standing there. He smiled and hugged the girl as she hugged him. Hana was an important person his life and he definitely was happy to have  her in his life. He smiled, he wasn’t sure what brought this impromptu hike on but he didn’t mind either way He nodded and smiled ,”Of course, when am I not ready to go? Let’s go.”

Her arms were weighed down by grocery bags, boxes of mac and cheese and cans of soup poking out of her top of the brown bag. In fact her arms were so filled that she hadn’t even been able to put her headphones in her ears – something which did turn out to be a blessing, though at the time she was just cursing the fact that her headphones were a tangled mess in her bag and she was stuck behind a gaggle of mooching teenagers who showed no interest in speeding up, despite the heavy weight in her arms. She hadn’t heard her keys clatter to the floor, but when someone reached out to get her attention, she turned, slightly confused as to why the man was holding her own keys. For they were her keys, she could see by the “L” attached to the set of keys that they were hers. “Uh, yeah they are. Thanks” she nodded awkwardly, jostling the bags in her arms to try and grab the keys from him 

Diego looked at the girl as he had hold of her keys, he wasn’t sure if she just had an attitude or it was that she seemed annoyed that had picked up her keys. Looking at her he shrugged, “No problem, they must of dropped out of your pocket or something.” He said smiling softly, “Look I don’t want to be annoying or anything but did you need help with that? I mean you’re walking the same way I am going so I am sure I can help you a little bit if you wish.”

Dakota could see the difference between the city and a small town with ease now that she was in one, everyone here knew everyone, people kept tabs on one another and being a new face meant you stuck out like a sore thumb, she was glad that there were people around who were nice enough not to treat her like a total outsider. “It’s different to what I’m used to” she answered honestly and then shrugged her shoulders a little “I think it’ll take me a while to adjust.” she added and smiled a little.

Laughing as they began to practice she kept on her toes trying her best to keep balance as she attempted to block the punches, she was fast with her upper reflexes, it was her legs that often weren’t as strong. “Oh by all means, don’t go easy on my account” she joked back shaking her head a little. “So what do you do for a living?” she asked curiously, in the city the standard answer would normally be something in one of the high rises, here things varied a lot.

Diego wasn’t one to moan about where he lived and he loved it so Sanford was home for him, it was nice to be living there. He had been living there for a good amount of years and was kind of glad to not be one to travel around a lot. He nodded looking at the girl, “So where are you originally from them? What are you used to?” He nodded, “I am sure it will but it’s a nice place so I am sure you’ll get used to it soon.” He nodded again at his words.

Diego looked at her as he started to punch trying not to go to hard with the punches but she was very good at blocking and he liked a challenge so he was happy to continue working with her. “Well if you continue going the way you are, I don’t think I will go easy on you.” He laughed a little an nodded hearing her question and he nodded, “Oh I’m a Divorce Lawyer, what about you? What exactly brought you  to Sanford?” He asked at the same time thinking maybe her job did.

Seeing everyone around her fall into practice she suddenly regretted dropping her classes in Denver so early because she definitely felt out of practice, she really enjoyed learning to fight, it helped her to feel a little less powerless and it helped to train up her balance.

Whilst she was doing a few stretches to warm up she looked around to see a man approaching her, naturally she returned his smile effortlessly and tilted her head a little, seemed like they were the only ones left who weren’t paired up. “Hi” she replied turning her body so that she was facing him and chuckles a little under her breath “New to town, new to class, new to everything really” she answered brightly and shrugged “Sure, I’d like that” she answered before changing her stance to widen her center of gravity ready for practice. 

As the trainer instructed them to practice punches and blocking she looked back up at the man with a half smile “Well if we’re going to punch one another might as well be aquainted, my name’s Dakota” she introduced herself before holding her hands up to guard.

Diego wasn’t sure if the girl would agree to being his partner, it wasn’t that they were the last people to pair up, he actually waned o pair up with the girl and make her feel welcomed. he walked over to the girl and smiled as she answered his question, “Well Welcome to the town then, how you finding it here already?” He asked intrigued as to how she liked the place.

As he started to stretch briefly while looking at her before hearing their trainer and he nodded, “Well I guess we should know each others name. I will try to go easy on you though but no promises” He laughed before nodding, “It’s nice to meet you Dakota, I’m Diego.” He smiled before looking up at her hands as she raised them up and he laughed a little, “So you want to guard first, okay. Well let’s do this.”

“What happened?” Haider asked, concern filling his voice. You see, Haider only got concerned for those he could call friends and for his family. Other than that, he just didn’t really seem to care. “I’m good, thank you,” the businessman nodded in response, smoothing down his expensive suit as he walked.

Diego looked up at the guy and shrugged a little, “Just problems at home with the wife, it’s fine nothing a gym session can’t help fix.” He stated, it wasn’t that he didn’t want to talk about it, it was that he didn’t know know how to. “That’s good to know.”

If there was one thing that Dakota hated it was feeling out of the loop and in Sanford she felt that constantly, she knew it would come with time but there was something about it that put her on edge. To try and bring some normality to her life she had signed up for evening sessions at the local recreation center in taekwondo, she had been doing classes in the city for the better part of a year now, she liked the sport and she liked being able to fight, even if she never needed it in real life.

Entering the recreation center she looked around for a few moments before setting down her bag and walking up to inform the trainer of her presence before taking a place at the edge of the room, of course, she knew no one in the class, she didn’t really know anyone in town at all yet, again, it would come with time. So when the trainer announced for all of them to pair up a small rush of panic washed over her as she watched everyone else gather into little clusters of two, it was almost like high school all over again.

Diego spent near enough every evening and every chance he could in the gym but he made the effort to go to his Martial Arts class that day because he hadn’t been in a while and he wanted to become stronger then he was. He made it to the class and placed his bag in his locker like usual before walking through. Warming up was always important to him and although he ran there, he needed to warm up his muscle, here was nothing worse then feeling tense when practicing.

Looking around the place, he could see some new faces but not many so he shrugged as he smiled at his mate who walked in. They started talking at his time he started fiddling with his wedding ring. Why did he do that, he never knew. He stopped talking when he heard the trainer start talking and when they were told to pair up, his eyes led to the girl who was in the corner of the class who was obviously new. He walked over to the girl and smiled, “Hi, so you must be new? I mean as you know we have to pair up so why don’t you pair up with me.”

Hearing the laugh, Jin looked over at the other with a bright smile. “Iron Man is my favorite superhero,” he responded, shrugging his shoulders. He’d always loved dressing up as superheroes when he was younger. Jin had owned a lot of comic books as a little boy and he took inspiration for his Halloween costumes as them. The doctor put away the mask and shoved his hands in his pocket. “I felt like being a superhero for a while.”

Diego looked over at the guy who had the mask and he couldn’t help but laugh, how could Iron Man be his favorite? “Hang on, how can Iron Man be your favorite? Captain America is so much better. I mean I know the Winter Soldier isn’t really a hero but Bucky Barnes was kind of and i loved him. But Captain America is definitely the better superhero.” He couldn’t help but laugh, he was now having a discussion about superhero’s what was coming of him. Nodding, “Well if you can actually go out and save everyone’s life out there like Iron Man tried to do then go for it.”

“I was just getting back from a meeting, I wanted to get home before it started to rain,” he explained, looking briefly up at the sky. The weather was constantly changing these days and he didn’t want to end up catching a cold if it rained on him. “Sure, that would be fine.” Haider didn’t mind being seen walking with Diego, he was his friend. “How are you today?”

“Oh right that makes sense. Yeah it does look like it might rain.” He nodded as he looked up at the sky. He nodded smiling at the guy glad to walk with a friend. Putting a hand through his long hair, he nodded, “Yeah I’m good, I mean I could be better but it doesn’t really matter to be honest. That’s why I am going to the gym. How are you?”

Haider was on his way back from a business meeting. Like usual, all had gone well and he’d received another offer. Sometimes, he thought that it was a good thing to be living in America since it was a land of opportunities. It was so different from his hoe back in Pakistan that the young man had even considered remaining here after the business deals were done. He was too busy feeling proud of himself that he didn’t realize he’d dropped his keys on the floor. It was only when he heard a voice, that was talking to him, that he turned around. “Oh,” Haider walked over and took the keys from the other. “Thank you.”

Diego was starting to feel better that day but he knew he needed the gym before he get home to Ashley. Looking at the guy as he handed the keys to his friend and nodded, “No problem. You in a  rush somewhere then? Or did you just not notice them fall to the floor?” He asked just wondering. “As you’re heading in my direction, we could maybe walk together.”

Preity had never really minded her work that much. Sure, she didn’t want to be a waitress for the rest of the life and she was only using the job as an excuse to stay closer to her sister at Sanford, but it wasn’t as bad as people made it out to be. And the girl always had a smile on her face, she could cheer anyone up no matter how bad their day was. That was the number one reason why she was the waitress people always wanted to be served by. Walking over to a table, with a friendly smile plastered on her face, she took out her notepad and pen. “Hello, what can I get for you today?”

Diego had decided to head into the restaurant for a bite to eat before heading back to work. He was going to meet Ashley for lunch but she cancelled last minute and he knew he had to eat. As he took a seat at an open table in the restaurant, he smiled waiting for the waitress to come over. Hearing her question he smiled, “Well I would like a chicken salad and a glass of orange juice please.” He smiled looking at the girl who was a familiar face, “Sorry to bother, but you’ve been working here a while right? Because I recognize you.”

Halloween was nearing which meant several costumes were already put on display for children to buy. Jin had originally gone to the store to grab some milk and a few other items but when his eyes set on the costumes for the children, he found himself getting distracted. Putting on the Iron Man mask, Jin made noises to himself in order to pretend to be like a superhero. He continued to make noises for as long as he could, not realizing he was making a bit of a scene.

Diego had decided to go to the tore and get a few things for dinner, he wanted to make a dinner for Ashley, it had been a long time since he had done something like that. He knew they needed to talk but he wasn’t really planning on that right now. As he walked past an aisle, he was going to ignore it before he noticed something a guy putting an iron man mask on. Walking up to the guy, he couldn’t help but laugh, “Really? Iron man? Why are you wearing the Iron Man mask?”

Diego had a long day at the office and he didn’t plan on going home just yet so he found himself walking towards the gym. He wasn’t really a person who liked being interrupted on his way to the gym so he would start jogging towards there to get his hidden anger out and it helped a lot. The was doing that like normal today and as he was doing so he noticed someones keys on the floor and he sighed looking at the person who was just in front of him, “Hey, excuse me but are these your keys?” He asked as he picked them up looking at the person in front.
