rafaelcasal | SEASON FINALE PHOTO DUMP: BEHIND THE SCENES
1. Ben Turner @benjaminearlturner and I passing Alcatraz, getting a shot of Earl looking at how long prisons have been a part of the legacy of the bay
2. My scene partner and tv wife the genius @jazzy_joness
3. My first day directing, with a full house of brilliant actors.
4. First time seeing my name on the slate, next to the great @tarinanderson
5. Me practicing the night before my first day, making sure the part my opening shot for the episode would work. Start on the candle holder that looks like a face/vase, wrap through the house with Sean and catch every character he passes
6. The storm that destroyed our set on my last day of directing and our last day of production. On our hardest day (the big scene with earl and the police) we lost 3 hours right in the middle, because a storm - WHICH NEVER HAPPENS IN THE BAY - blew over half of our set and flooded the equipment. @keithcalder turned to me at the end of the night after we still managed to get all the shots we needed and said “NOW you’re a director”
7. They said I was mad with power. “A mad king” I replied.
