Inbox Open Again!
Hey everyone! I’m back sooner than expected, which is a relief because I’ve barely gotten a moment to myself these past couple of days. I hope everyone else has had a lovely Christmas (if you celebrate it).
With that said, I’ve re-opened the inbox so if you want to send in questions, reservations or applications, now is the time! I will try to answer them ASAP, but I will be busy tidying up in between.

Upcoming Christmas Hiatus!
As I’m sure you all know, Christmas is coming up fast, which means busy, busy times. Both of the mods (Tentomon and Gatomon) will be occupied with family and holiday related activities, so we have decided to close the inbox from December 24th-27th. It will re-open sometime on the 27th.
We’ll try to make another post about this before then, but this is a heads up just in case you wonder why our inbox is closed during those days. All inactivity from now until January 5th will not be counted against you either.

How do characters find/activate their crests?
All DigiDestined receive tags upon arrival, which react by glowing and/or floating when their crest first presents itself to them. For example, watch this clip from Adventure in which Mimi finds and obtains her crest.
It’s up to you how your character finds their crest and it can be used endlessly once it is in their possession. They may happen to stumble upon their crest or it may present itself in time of need. Again, this is entirely your decision.

Some Friendly Reminders
So it’s come to our attention that some of you may be forgetting or may have not seen it in the premise, but all roleplay at Digimon: Overdrive takes place in the year 2001!
What does that mean?
Well, it means your character was likely born in the 80s or late 90s. Birthdays in the year 2000 are unacceptable since that would make your character no more than a year old!
It also means technology was not the way we know it to be today. For example, a 2001 cell phone looked like this. A lot different than what we see today, if you ask me! We want everyone to be aware of this when mentioning technology in their threads or pages on their blogs because the devices you might be thinking of perhaps did not exist yet in 2001. A simple Google search should tell you when certain devices were officially created or released.
We also noticed that some think a language barrier may exist in the Digital World. Well, we’re here to tell you that is not the case! Why, you ask? Referencing this ask in our FAQ tag:
Every word spoken in the Digital World is heard by a human in their native tongue. Someone who speaks English will hear English, someone who speaks Dutch will hear Dutch, someone who speaks Korean will hear Korean, and so on. In other words, words are automatically translated by the data in the Digital World and that’s what your character hears others speaking!
This makes communicating between different languages much easier and completely possible. Of course, outside of the Digital World, communication difficulties may arise if two people do not speak the same language.
