True
Giving relationship advice while being single.
Clearly I know what to avoid and what not to do haha might as well learn from my experiences.
Hey guysâŠ
I love my black folks. We are beautiful and magical human beings. I'm so proud to be black. I'm proud of my skin color. But my worth as a black person or pro black attitude doesn't weaken or become invalid if I decide to date a white person or non black POC. Regardless of being black or any cultural background if you don't stand for my beliefs then you can get to stepping. But if we are on the same page of the same book then why would I let something stop our connection. I've had black men be more degrading to me than other races. I still won't let any action speak for a group. I still love black men, along with all different shades, colors, builts of men.
Good taste in music is attractive.

I don't care who you are or what you look like. But if we vibe to music I'm hooked!

the only reason weed is attributed to Bob Marley is because it was a huge part of the Rastafari religion. Rastafarians promoted black empowerment, self-love, and self-reliance and smoking pot was used as a way of enhancing meditation. although he was rumored to smoke one pound of weed a day, police found no pot in any of his belongings while on tour and none in the belongings of everyone on tour with him.
now Bob Marley is depicted as a happy dude smoking on a beach when he was actually a huge activist against African countries with dictatorships and even did a huge concert in Zimbabwe when they declared independence. thousands of fans broke in to the concert to see him and police shot tear gas into the mob. Bob didnât stop performing even when tear gas reached the stage, making most of his bandmates rush off. he also did a huge peace concert in Jamaica to unite two warring political parties. his songs often spotlighted racism and inequality and he was an important voice for black people not only in the US, but the entire world.
and now heâs a snapchat filter
This is the man that wrote revolutionary songs like âAfrica Uniteâ, âBlack Man Redemptionâ, âWarâ (where he spoke out against apartheid and the conflict in Angola). Songs like âBuffalo Soldierâ, âRedemption Songâ, âCrazy Baldheadâ, âStiff Necked Foolsâ, âWarâ, and many other songs that made it clear where he stood in the movement. But folks have reduced him to âJamminââ and âOne Loveâ, ignoring his entire library of music in which he clearly sent the message that he was an activist who worked and strived for global Black liberation.
Looking past the use of "-an" with Rastafari...
Throughout history folks have always tried to water down things that are too dense to handle. No one wants to acknowledge his constant works of unity and enlightenment but "Yaaaah lets toke and listen to dubstep remixes of Marley because it's so chill". Every ounce of truth he spoke was in all of his music but they will listen to it and hear patois and act like his message isn't understandable. These same people are the first ones to call anyone black "the real racists" for speaking out on racism.
When people think they are important enough to be remembered...
