101 seconds to set up your Google+ Biz Page
By now everybody should know that Google finally opened up their Google+ platform for business pages, and sure enough, I had my fist encounter with an automotive dealership business page this afternoon on y Google+ stream. Â
My thoughts: “Right on, Classic Chevrolet Cadillac Buick GMC – love the photo and the message that greeted me from the get-go”… So if you’re reading this, why are you and your dealership not on yet? It is really not difficult and it will take no longer than 101 seconds to set up your own Dealership Google+ page. Â
Here is how: Â First, make sure that you have a Google account and that you are already connected to Google+. You can use your own login credentials for setting up your business page.
ATTENTION: In case you want to have several administrators for your Google+ page, make sure to create a new Google account like [email protected] and provide the password to your “partners in crime.” At this time, Google does not provide multiple admin access like Facebook is doing, but the word is that it’s in the works.  Below you can see my login screen into my personal Google+ real estate.
Scroll to the bottom of the page and click “CREATE PAGE” on the right (circle).
The “Create a Page” section will open and you’ll see five categories reading: Â
Company, Institution or Organization
Arts, Entertainment or Sports
In the following two images, you’ll see that each category contains sub-categories in a scroll-down window, which would make it easy to select your business – in this case here “Auto.”
Because I did want to create a Google+ Page about my blog, I chose the category Arts, Entertainment or Sports and selected “Blog” as my sub-category.
After typing in my Business Name “Social Media Buzzer” and the URL http://SocialMediaBuzzer.com – I hit the orange “CREATE” button. Â
A new window showed up (image below) which will allow you to set up your tag-line (10 words maximum), which will give a short, crisp explanation of what this +page is all about. Further, you can add your appropriate company picture or logo and crop it as you like – click >>> “Continue.”
Now…Spread the love, or in my case the word, about what you just have done –
Created a Google+ Business Page. Write a few words and hit “SHARE.” Congratulations! You did it! Now tell me if I was right – it did not take more than 101 seconds! Right?! Â
As you can see below, the “Congrats!” screen from Google+ will allow you to discover more features you should definitively include in your digital marketing process, like building your circles, starting a conversation and creating a batch which you could embed into your website. This will let customers know that you are now also active on Google+. Â
EXTRA TIP: In each digital message you’ll send out (email newsletter, email signatures, etc.) include your unique Google+ ID (see red rectangle box below) in order to assure that more followers and curious prospects will follow this link. Last but not least. In your admin panel of your initial Google+ account you will have the ability to see all your business pages you have with Google. In a case of a car dealership a thought could be to have 2-4 different profit centers (Sales, Parts, Finance and Service) set-up and sharing individual messages and stories around these profit entities. As always…good luck in your business endeavors…happy selling and enthusiastic digital marketing…sincerely…Your @VJnator
