Shigeo stops, turning around to look at his classmate.

Riiiiiight. He comes from Mexico, after all, or that region in France he read about where the climate is rather temperate. Snow for during winter for Shigeo is like Christmas with his grandparents for Yannick ; like that foamy hot chocolate he's told him about. There can't be one without the other.

It's something he hadn't realised he took for granted until those words left the other student's mouth. He looks him up and down, all bundled up with his nose red and his eyes wet from the cold wind he isn't used to, and he almost breathes out a laugh through his nose at the sight. Almost. It's a little endearing, in a way. He wonders for a second how he'd look like in a Mexican summer.

« Sometimes when you step on it, if a lot of people have passed through, it can be icy and slippery, so, be careful, » he says.

« Hmm... Come, I'll show you something. »

Dark grey skies and a flurry of snow greet him when he steps outside, crisp air making cheeks turn rosy and breath opaque. He's bundled beneath a mountain of clothes in an endeavour to keep the freezing temperatures out, but it does nothing to help his uncovered face ( does he need a mask ? ). "It's so... cold. How do you survive this ? And how long does it tend to last ?" Yannick misses summer. The warmth, sun, and blue as far as the eye could see when gazing upon the heavens - is there anything better ?

There is something magical about this, however. How a blanket of white covers the grounds, swallowing all. How flakes dance as they tumble from the sky, carried by the wind. A hand stretches out to catch one, and it melts in front of his eyes, gone before he can behold intricate patterns he's heard so much about. "So stay away from icy parts and-- Wait, what was I told earlier ? Yellow snow ? Got it." Shivering, a faint smile plays on lips as snow crunches underfoot. "Please tell me it's something warm." A joke - his friend's presence is enough. "I'll make us soup when we get back inside, by the way. I think we'll need it."

He's troubled in ways once thought unimaginable. Fist pressing to the wall, Yannick's forehead rests against the wood. No matter what he does, those words uttered by his former classmate echo in his head. Their fault. His cousin and students lost, thrown into the jaws of curses as easy prey because of non-sorcerers. Their fault. Was it ? Was it truly ? But if so, then what was the right path to take ? What should he do ? It all seems wrong, goes against his upbringing - protect, protect, protect. Use his own body. His own life. Protect. But what use was he if he couldn't even save those close to him ?

When the door slides open, Yannick blinks and moves away from his resting place. Peers over and sees a familiar face. "Shigeo... ?" Fingers thread through hair, distress clear in demeanour and dark circles under eyes. The ghosts of his nightmares seize him by the throat and choke him, dragging him into sunless depths. "I-- Shigeo, do you have a moment ? I need to talk to you." Someone trusted, adored, a friend he's known since he moved to Japan - perhaps he'd find what he needs here. "Please." Softly, he pleas, implores for a sympathetic ear to listen to his plight and the spiralling madness that threatens to overtake him.

« Quiguer-kun... » Shigeo began just as he finished packing his books neatly into his bag. He trailed off for a second as he clipped it closed, then, finally, he looked up at his classmate.

« Do you have anything to do for the rest of the day ? »

Pen absently taps against lips, soft hum rising as he sits with eyes closed. It's summer now, the gentle warmth greeting his face through open windows; it reminds him of ones spent with his cousins, chasing them around the garden with the dog, laughter joyful and endless. It's enough to earn a chuckle, head tilting in his hand. "Hm ?" Blinking, those precious dreams chased away and dissipated into nothing, gone as quickly as they came. Yannick offers his classmate a faint smile, golden irises searching. "-- I wasn't planning on anything in particular."

Not unless homework counts, of course. "Something on your mind ?" Quietly asked, book closed and slid into his bag.

What type of villain are you?

For the Greater Good

Perhaps you do not believe what you are doing can truly be classified as evil. Perhaps some people will be hurt from the immediate consequences of your actions, but what the masses fail to see is the immense good that will come of your plans. Maybe you act in the name of science, or for your people who have fallen on great tragedy. Maybe you see cracks in a failing system and want to uproot it through chaotic, destructive means to avoid greater tragedy down the line. Maybe you're just in with a bad crowd, but you can't leave them, no matter how unsavory their intentions, because they're your only ticket to your ultimate goals. No matter what, your goals are noble, and you take no joy in wreaking havoc or hurting those in your way, but the evils you partake in are necessary. If you need to play the bad guy to ensure a better future, then you are willing to play that part.

Yuuji can hear the teasing in his voice, can see the judging expression, and he’s only very slightly miffed.

« I am a movie enjoyer, » he says, shoving the other lightly. He folds his arms over his chest and tips his nose up indignantly. Who doesn’t like a movie with pretty women on it, anyway ?!

« I do like action, though ! And horror. I like all of them, really… » He says, cupping his chin thoughtfully trying to recall if there’s any specific genres he doesn’t like.

Then an idea strikes him, and he gasps and his eyes light up.

« Have you ever seen Human Earthworm ? » he asks, tilting his head.

Rubbing the back of his neck, Yannick looks away. There's a feeling this might earn an explosive reaction. "I admit, I haven't seen many movies before." Quiet confession, his smile near bashful. "Uh. I did see some on the plane between France and Mexico occasionally, though ? I remember one about chickens not wanting to be turned into pies." Free Chicken ? Run Chicken ? Something along those lines. Scratching his cheek, brows furrow as he tries to think of more. Superhero films weren't all that interesting, so he brushes past those. Other than that -- No, there wasn't anything. "There's also the telenovelas that my Abuela watches, but I guess they don't really count, do they..." Nor can he say he really paid attention to them. There was a wedding in the most recent one she mentioned, right ? A villain dying ? Or did they go insane ? Gods, he couldn't recall for the life of him.

Human Earthworm, though. What sort of film was that ? Images of a human digging through the dirt like a worm are conjured, and Yannick has to stop himself from snorting. That couldn't be it, right ? "-- What's it about ?"

so. you got worse. and i'm not entirely sure i can blame you for it. maybe it was in you all along, hidden and waiting, or maybe someone planted it in you and watched it grow. either way, it's there now and you hold it in your fist like a second heart - this blood, this hunger, this thrill of having teeth and using them. perhaps you are right to. you are a mirror for the hardness of the world, and a mirror that we could all stand to look in more often. it's hard to watch the bleeding bring about more blood, but it is undeniable that you are very good at wounding.
