THE ONLY THINGS WE KNOW ARE TRUE ABOUT 6X10
So, now that it’s come out (7x06) that Charlotte was manipulating Alison to get out of Welby, it brings up a lot of questions about 6x10.
We don’t know if Charlotte cares for Alison at all. She was manipulating her, yes, but that doesn’t mean she doesn’t care for her at all. Personally, I hope she cares for Alison in some way, but that’s certainly no sure at this stage.
So, let’s get to 6x10. I always thought it was suspicious that everyone who could confirm Charlie’s story was dead. Wilden. Jessica. Bethany. Miss Cavanagh.
So, who, other than Charlotte herself can confirm any of her story? Let’s think.
Kenneth Dilaurentis. He heard Charlie tell the whole story and as far as we know never contradicted any of it. Also Mona can KIND OF (but not that reliably) confirm. I don’t count Sara because I don’t trust her and other than her being redcoat & black widow she doesn’t offer much anyway.
So what we know IS true (on the assumption Kenneth didn’t contradict anything Charlie says and on the assumption that Charlotte is Charles):
- Jessica & Kenneth did adopt Charles and raise him as their own.
- Kenneth wasn’t happy about Charles dressing up in girls clothing (still only implied, really).
- The bath incident did happen.
- Then they did put Charlie into Radley.
- Kenneth never visited him. Not even once.
- Charlotte & Mona were in Radley together and that’s how Charlie knew so much about the girls. Story time!
- Kenneth was told Charles died.
- Her and Jason met the way she told it and were together but didn’t have sex (assuming he didn’t contradict this).
I think everything else is now up for debate, particularly her relationship with Jessica. We’re meant to believe (and I hope but now have doubts) that Jessica visited her pretty regularly in Radley. That they were super close. That Jessica got her into Upenn. That Jessica showed her more love and affection than we ever saw her give either Jason or Alison.
As for Miss Cavanagh and Bethany – we really have no idea if this is true. They’re both dead. Yes, there’s some paperwork to sort of back it up, but who knows?
Meaning we really don’t know if that scene with Charlie finding Jessica’s dead body really happened. She could have even killed Jessica, for all we know. It would make sense with that video she sent Alison of burying Jessica’s body – “I buried her like I watched her bury you”.
Speaking of which, we don’t even know if THAT NIGHT (Alison’s disappearance) really happened the way Charlotte said. All we know is that Jessica (or possibly Mary) DID bury Alison because Alison remembers that. She also remembers her mom talking to someone “what have you done?” But who hit her and more importantly, WHY, is again up for grabs. Maybe Charlie did it out of malice, or maybe it really was an accident. Maybe it wasn’t even her.
We also technically can’t confirm that it was Wilden that helped cover up the Miss Cavanagh thing or the Alison thing (though it seems pretty likely from their later associations).
