He got the impression he’d confused the poor thing, the Hufflepuff looked a little mentally lost and it made Tyler unwillingly chuckle as he tilted his head. “No, I’m not suggesting your bag grew legs and walked it’s way to your dorm- however, lost luggage often does make it’s way back to where it belongs. If it’s found on the train or in the station then I have no doubt someone will return it, when they find out it’s yours the school will make sure it gets back to you.”

Dill’s face frowned slightly. He was hoping he had a cool bag that sprouted legs. A pet that he could finally have without his parents tell him no and that he would kill it. How could he kill a walking bag? He figured they wouldn’t need food, leggy bags. Would ripping it count as killing it, though? Dill looked down, lost in thought only to be snapped back into reality and caught just a glimpse of what the other boy was saying. Dill oped his mouth, “Someone has my bag and put it into my dorm? Are you, like, certain about that?”

She felt bad for the boy, Daphne was pretty sure that if his head had not been attached to him he would lost it all the time as well. “I wouldn’t have offered if I wasn’t Dill, you look like you need it.” she smiled sincerely. “Thank you, but I don’t think that’s has much to do with my capabilities to find lost goods. So where did you last see it?”

Dill offered a smile to Daphne. If it wasn’t for her brain working for him a lot of the time, he would be so lost and in so much trouble. He’d probably forget where he dorm was if she didn’t set him straight. Without even taking a moment to think, Dill responded, “I remember it being on the train with me.”

Loxley turned back in time to see the guy taking off his shoes, which actually managed to make him laugh. “Spiders in Britain can’t kill you buddy, they’ll just leave a nasty sting.” He turned back to the seedlings, delicately separating the fragile root systems. “I meant stuff like tetanus and hepatitis, you know. My parents didn’t believe in vaccinations, but my aunt is a healer and went off her nut when she found out. I spent the holidays getting jabbed with needles.” Just thinking about it made his arm hurt, and Loxley verbally winced.

“What about those evil thingy we learn about in Care of Magical Creatures?” he asked, before taking a moment to think. The more he thought, the more it seemed like those spiders would be very big. Very few times did the class explain about the littler, less dangerous animals. It wasn’t until the last bit of the boy’s sentence that Dill realized that he wasn’t really paying attention. He offered a thoughtless smile. “Shots suck.”

“Well I think maybe some people go for help? But there’s also people who just like charms.” Jeremy was decent at charms, even better at memory ones ironically, but he wasn’t part of the club.

“Wouldn’t that be tutoring if they were just suck at charms?” Dill asked the other Hufflepuff. He always just assumed the bad kids were the ones inside of the classrooms after classes.

“Or just tie it to you when you sit down so you remember to pick it up when you get up.” Sol was rarely forgetful enough to lose track of her things. “Well ripping it would suck but who gives a shit about what anybody else thinks?” Sol tried not to care about others feelings or opinions beside her own because otherwise she would drive herself crazy.

“But don’t people dress nice and do their hair and everything so that people will think of them nicely?” Dill asked her. He didn’t try to call her out on any sort of hypocrisy. He was just confused as to why she was suggest that she didn’t care, but she, like many others, presented themselves nicely.

“Yeah, well,” Not bothering to look back, Loxley continued as he was, replanting seedlings and inspecting root structure. “I read a thing that said humans who go barefoot have more brain connections and that. Human feet are made for the Earth. We shouldn’t be stuffing them into shoes in the first place.” It was a half read article that he’d found in a muggle newspaper, but Loxley would cite it as evidence. He preferred being barefoot anyway. “Besides, I’m up to date on all my shots, thanks to living with my aunt over the holidays. My dad’ll be spinning in his grave.”

Dill looked down at his feet as the boy started to explain how humans were supposed to be barefoot. He figured he did have a point. All of those pictures and sculptures of ancient humans showed them without shoes. He bent down, untying his shoes and slipping them off. “They have shots for the being bit by spiders? Like what if one is poisonous?” he asked. Spiders were the worst to be bit by, according to Dill. Anything with more than four legs couldn’t be trust. It was a known fact.

Dill felt a little awkward, jumping into that boy’s conversation like that to question the Charms Club. He shrugged back at him. “I just thought all of those after classes meetings were for kids who couldn’t do most of the material to help them.”

“No I haven’t. Aren’t you a Hufflepuff? Maybe one of your housemates saw it?” Sol hadn’t seen a red bag anywhere, but then again she wasn’t looking out for one. “Maybe next time tie your bags to your or something so you don’t forget them.” Sol never forgot her bag. She had so little things it would be pretty bad to do so.

Housemates would be a good place to start, Dill thought to himself. He placed his hand on his chin before looking back at the girl in front of him. Nodding his head, he listened to her next bit of advice before frowning. “Well, tying them to me would make it hard to move around. Or it would be embarrassing... Like, what if I trip and fall and rip it?” he asked her.

All day long people had been walking up for her asking if she had seen their lost belongings. Books, bags wands, pets, name it and someone had probably lost it. It didn’t take her by surprise when she heard yet another questions, as she looked up to see Dill she couldn’t help but smile in amusement, of course Dill would have lost his stuff. “I haven’t but i could help you find it,” she offered.

Dill pouted at his friend, feeling a bit silly. She probably would have assumed or known he would have lost or forgotten something. He tucked his hands in his pockets. “Well, if you’re really okay with helping me find it. You’re a Ravenclaw. You’re probably better at thinking than most of the others at school anyways,” he agreed, thinking where to look first.

There were always students who left things, every year without a doubt, of course Tyler was never among them but being a prefect he was always the helpful sort- or at least, he wasn’t the type to leave someone who needed help if they were directly in front of him. “A red duffel bag?” He repeated with the hint of a smile. “I can have someone check back at the station, if that’s helpful? Though, have you checked your room? Our belongings do tend to have a way of ending up precisely where we need them.”

Dill looked at the other student, tilting his head to the side. He knew magic existed, but it seemed a little far-fetched for his bag to appear in his room out of no where. His poor little brain couldn’t wrap his head around the concept and how it could possibly work. So much so that it seemed that Dill had short circuited and stared blankly for a while. “Is my duffel bag enchanted or something?” he asked him.

Dill looked down at his backpack. After many reminders from his mother before the ride, he made sure he picked it up from the train. He stood blissfully for a few seconds before the gears in his brain began to turn. With a sense of realization, Dill’s jaw hit the ground. “Crap, I forgot my other bag...” he exclaimed and turned to the nearest person. “Have you seen a red duffel bad?”

“Oh sorry I have no idea where the Charms club meets.” Jeremy barely remembered where his own clubs met.

Dill looked back at the fellow Hufflepuff. “Wait, we have a Charms club? I thought it was a class for kids who couldn’t do the spells right.”

Sweat stung his eyes, but Loxley’s hands were covered in dirt. He dragged his forearm over his brow. “God damn it’s fuckin’ hot in here.” He announced to no one in particular. Coming from London to Scotland he hadn’t expected such heat, but the greenhouses sucked up every morsel of sunshine they could get. He’d long ago discarded his tshirt, shoes, and was wondering if he could just hang out in his boxers when a gust of fresh air indicated the door opening.

As forgetful as always, Dill left his Herbology textbook inside of one the greenhouses. Figuring out which greenhouse was the one his class was in was another adventure and puzzle for the Hufflepuff. Dill made his way towards one of the greenhouses and pushed open the door. He was surprised to see some kid with his shirt and shoes cast off. “I don’t think you shouldn’t be without your shoes and everything. Merlin know’s what in the soil and what falls on the ground and all,” he warned.
