Intro Post 🧬

Hi I go by Dim, this isn't my first rodeo but much of my background on Tumblr has been lurking so I decided to post some art. I mostly draw my characters so much of this blog will be self indulgent posting.

Some things about me:

I am agender and use they/them pronouns

INTP

I study chemical engineering

Many of the characters I post are from a visual novel passion project that I've been working on for a while

English is my native language but I've been learning Russian and Japanese for a while! Feel free to message me in those languages and I'll do my best (albeit with a dictionary by my side) to respond

My favorite Pokémon are Weavile, Piplup, Pumpkaboo, Scolipede, and Banette

Interests

General: Art, animation, writing, chemistry, literature, visual novels, languages, plushies, coffee, vampires, CHIIKAWA!!!!!

Music: Will Wood, My Chemical Romance, Placebo, Siouxsie and the Banshees, Pierce The Veil, Sleater-Kinney, Rage Against the Machine, Jack Off Jill, Jeff Buckley, Pulp, Mitski, London After Midnight, Sisters of Mercy, Limp Bizkit

TV Shows: American Dad... Yeah that is about it. I've watched a lot of American Dad in my time. Been trying to get into House MD.

Anime: Katekyo Hitman Reborn, Gintama, Nana, Madoka Magica, Haibane Renmei, Fullmetal Alchemist, Ranma 1/2, Scott Pilgrim (also including the comics), haven't watched much in a hot minute but I'm slowly trying to get back into it

Video Games: Pokémon, Stardew Valley, Clannad, Little Busters, Katawa Shoujo, Chaos;Head Noah, Majikoi, many other visual novels

Books/Authors: Geek Love (Katherine Dunn), SWWLYIAYDG (Raphael Bob-Waksberg), Sputnik Sweetheart (Haruki Murakami), Stoner (John Williams), John Steinbeck, Kurt Vonnegut, Yukio Mishima, Izumi Suzuki. I like a lot of books so this isn't an exhaustive list

So that's it from me. Although I'm not posting too much of it just yet, I do want to say as a heads up that my story contains some pretty heavy and sensitive content matter at times, so if you are not in a good headspace, you are free to pass on it.

i spend the afternoon in cars i sit in traffic jams for hours

sketches of my little guys. the first 4 were on the back of my chemistry papers so i never got to finish nor see them ever again. the sticky note is summers with her litten. the last 3 were from when i was in the hospital (I'M OK, THIS WAS A WHILE BACK)

made this back around Thanksgiving, the first completed clip studio paint illustration on my tablet so this was me testing out a bunch of stuff

For full transparency I heavily referenced a 3d model that I painstakingly posed on clip studio paint. um... it takes some getting used to i will say but i definitely want to try out more poses in the future

although i've consumed a lot of different media since middle school and i wouldn't say that KHR is the greatest anime of all time, it is still one that has had a pretty significant impact on 12 year old me. this anime is why i adore found family and insanely large casts of characters
