Cascina reacting to the Weed Den scene
âI always knew that Dina had been in love with Ellie for a long time,â Woodward tells me. âThere was a scene that I tested with when I read with Ashley [Johnson, Ellieâs voice actor] that became a version of a different scene. But there was a monologue that they had me do. It was about the history of their friendship. And it was talking about how sheâd been in love with her for a really long time; that they had been friends when Ellie had another girlfriend, Cat. And then her relationship with Jesse naturally had kind of ended ⊠I think, once she was single, she was like, âWeâre both single right now. We should probably take the window.ââ
âWe shot that scene for three or four hours. In fact, watching it again, Iâm so congested by the time we did that one,â says Woodward. âThat take they use is the last take because I had been crying for four hours straight. I was really worried about the scene.â
Iâm scared of ending up alone.
âI was only listening to it because I thought you were cute.â
Underrated Dialogue 10/?
âThe [line] âI donât want to lose youâ is something I kept latching onto, which is like, she now sees herself as less,â Druckmann says of Ellieâs mental state after killing Nora. âShe understands these things are horrible and the people around her will judge her horribly for them.
