“I don’t want you to think I got through this undamaged, okay? But I’m learning to live with it. Because otherwise, the damage is all you are.”
— David Levithan, Every You, Every Me
From the kid that moves around a lot..
..Sometimes, every once in a long while the intense loss for not being able to experience every opportunity that I have comes back to me, and it crushes me from deep within. As someone who moves around a lot as a child, looking back at the pictures with my old schoolmates and my old friends, I feel an intense pain from the loss of not being able to be with them till now.. Seeing them now, and seeing them posting pictures of the classes just after the year that I left, the grief comes back and my heart can't help but wish to be there too.. Sometimes, I just want to be that kid who is settled in one place, have those friends who I can call 'a friend since childhood' because as a child with time and a heavy heart, we can do nothing but move on.. That's how it is, for the kid that moves a lot.. Every time we move, the grief will come back, but as a kid, I woke up and suddenly I'll be fine again.. But seeing the people from the past, it just tends to hurt a lot more than I'd like to admit.. That's all, thank you for listening to my rant..
I am NOT a poet, this is just something I wrote for a school project
