MEA House listing - Facebook reacts
GOOD NEWS! Ryders & Yates's MEA House in Newcastle was amongst the 14 office buildings to receive Grade 2 status in a spate of listings dished out to post-war office blocks by English Heritage recently. The announcement also confirmed the listing of the old Ryder & Yates office in Killingworth which is still under threat due to urgent repair works that need carrying out (donate to the repair fund here).
One comment on the Torygraph article linked above reads:
"One can only hope for an earthquake I suppose.
What drivel."

I found this on a Facebook page featuring old photographs of Newcastle, what follows is an example of you're typical ill-informed bitter comment on the post-war developments in the city, namely blaming T Dan Smith for everything.
ERS still looking good, for now.
Generic Barratt housing on the Norgas House site marching towards the old Ryder & Yates office with a certain inevitability.
