If the horns on the man's head were any indicator, this wasn't just any human. Besides, any mortal carrying themselves with such jollity and candor around him had to be idiots.

He is wary out of necessity, not fear, he convinces himself as he comes closer.

Human or not, Dio crosses his arms, trying to figure out if this one is particularly stupid.

There’s no distinct emotion on his own face, simply staring and looking as calm and stoic as ever. Sighing deeply he looks somewhat annoyed by the choice in words used.

"Alive? Ironic you mentioned that. If you’re referring to the fact I haven’t died yet, I already have. I came back to life."

It's never simple with this boy. Time was a concept so trivial, so human to Dio before him. But he'd seen the Joestar blood flow from one generation to the next, seen the awakening of Star Platinum, and, finally, felt time stop for himself.

Dio can't find it in himself to be surprised at this explanation-- just really, really frustrated. He grits his teeth and feigns a cocky grin.

"Oh? And how was death?"
