Fashion Entrepreneurs: It's time to get your style on!

Why  are you in the fashion industry?  This is not an industry where you do things just for money because there is so much competition.  Yes, there is definitely money to be made, however that is after you have committed your life to it.  So I ask you again, why are yo u in the fashion industry? 

Whatever the reason for being in this industry, It is clear to understand that you must develop and be in tune with your own style.  Whether it's yourself (ie: model, photographer or your product (designer, boutique owner etc.). 

The way you get in tune with your style is to get in tune with your personality.  Your style is an extension of you and you must perfect this art of expression.  Why? You say.  Because it’s your first form of communication with the client.  As we all know, people judge you with the first few seconds of laying their eyes on you and you need to know (whether you care or not) what message your sending out there.  So, why not send the message that reflects you the most?

Do you want the camera to love your look?

"Do you live intentionally?”  What I mean by that is do you demand results from everything that you do in a day or do you just let the day demand you?  If you demand life to work for you, awesome job!  If you don’t, then we have some work to do.  

Be specific with everything that you want, whether it’s just going to store, brushing your teeth, cooking dinner… everything!  You deserve it and you have the power to do so.  Now, take this same attitude with your clothes. Before you get ready for that photoshoot, interview or public event, ask yourself the question: “How do I want to feel and what would be the best outcome?”  

Take mental note, writer it down or tell your personal stylist (had to add that in there, of course) and dress with intention.  Doing this will:  1) sky rocket your confidence &  2) have a positive effect on others.  These two go hand in hand and is hard to have one without the other.

Now is the time for you to put this to practice.  Before you pick out your clothes to wear, think about dressing with intention from this moment onwards.  Don’t just wear something because you like the way it “looks”. Think about how your clothes will work for you and accomplish your desired results.  Now THAT is how to dress your way to the top!
