&hiatus notice.;

i’ve put some thought into this and i’ve decided i must put this blog on hiatus for a little while. i will likely pop in from time to time to do a couple replies, but for the moment, irl stuff is interfering to the point where i simply cannot give this blog the attention it deserves.

i’ve reached a state where i come in, see the number of drafts i have, get stressed, then leave. rinse, repeat.

once things calm down, i fully expect to return in full and i’m sorry to those i have threads with. you can let me know you’d like to drop them if you’re tired of the wait. otherwise, to those who have been so kind and patient and will continue to be so, i will get back to you with a great reply sooner or later.

To see Thorin like this, to hear the way his voice sounded so off, so wrong, to hear those words. It all hurt like a physical wound that would’ve brought Bilbo to tears had he not been standing right in front of the dwarf in that moment. But Thorin needed him, needed him to the strong one in this. Bilbo could not let him down.

Well, more than he already had.

Which was all a lie, it was, but Bilbo needed Thorin to believe it. Needed him to just… believe him, for now, enough for him to take care of his own needs before he killed himself.

Time had passed. Maybe. Maybe. He was... cold, he thought. Hungry (for gold, not for gold). Exhausted. He led his people home and-- and now what? What was there without the Arkenstone? Without it all was for nothing. He won the mountain from the dragon and could not keep himself. Could not. Keep all of himself.

The mere thought makes him clench his teeth, bite down hard on his tongue until he draws blood, and can pretend the blood will save him.

He wants to say: help me and end it there. Help him, not the stone. I need you to help me.
