Nate couldn’t sleep tonight, for the thought of sneaking out past bedtime to explore was too much. He grabbed his lamp. 

Steal out the backdoor. Meet you where the trees bend and dip.

he will meet you there. where the trees dip low to the ground.

a moonlit night. watching the outline of trees swaying with the wind. faint lights dance in the woods again? It’s the kids again  further in for a chance of bravery! oh, but they’ll fall down and they will see red. for he lives in the woods.

every night before the drifting hour, she’d tell me the stories. always stories of cheerful bright kids wandering far from home “no dont stray they say or youll go far away!” a quest clear for the children, venture far into the woods. “dont go far away, or you’ll never see day” she would always finish these tales with this. I should’ve told her I never listened to her warnings i shouldve told her i went far away i cant tell her im going to hell.
