hi guys, my brain had orufrey brainworms for the past month, so i would like to share fics that i loved! these fics don't need me to reccomend them, but for some reason, i just wanted to list them out on my blog :)

loved the interactions between Qifrey and Olly in this fic! the angst of Qifrey holding back his secrets from Olly, and Olly pushing it without knowing the reason why. beautiful angst and fun banter!
Falling Star, Rising Sun: Qifrey and Olruggio are trying to build a life together, but end up becoming involved in so much more when trouble comes to their door. (76k words atm, olruggio&qifrey character study/hurt/comfort, ongoing)
Long fic!! But so so easy to read. I consumed this fic. I love when fics explore the concept of Qifrey knowing what Olruggio would do in each of his confessions. Loved how the author expanded on the current details set in the manga and gave very plausible headcanonical explanations and solutions!! Felt like I was reading the manga itself. TW: There is dubious consent in this fic but it is not caused by Qifrey or Olruggio.
be loved elsewhere: Qifrey rejects Olruggio for the first time and deals with the consequences. (8,045 words, angst/pining, complete)
again, i love fics that explore the complex dynamic between olruggio and qifrey, in which the former orbits, and the latter maintains the distance as it wouldn't do qifrey any good. but yet they want each other... this fic hits those notes!! also the revisiting of olruggio's confessions is chef's kiss... also semi jealous qifrey my beloved...
scorch: Olruggio and Qifrey are stuck in a snowstorm, and Olruggio doesn't know why. Qifrey is hurt. What Olruggio does know, is how to fix it. (It's not the first time he has to burn someone's wound shut.) (8,162 words, hurt/burns/childhood trauma, complete)
i'm a sucker for qifrey getting injured and olruggio having to come in and save him. bonus points for qifrey being out of it

i realise this fic is pre chapter 88!!!! the orufrey radars were strong back in 2022... a lovely fic exploring the teasing olruggio went through about the switched tassels.. love the way orufrey was written here, where theyre so mischeivous yet so delicate with each other.
fortune my foe: In here, in the deep abyss of the ocean, among winding halls and miserable grey stone and gossiping pointed caps, he finds his Northern Star, the one that changes everything. — An exploration of youth, identity, jealousy, and love all-encompassing. a study of qifrey and his childhood, his partner-in-crime and his apprentices. about qifrey and his past and future life. not much i can describe more than the fic already has. always love a delightful qifrey character study. do check out the tags for the full details of the fic!

in my eyes, this is an olruggio character study and background exploration. and was it such a fun one. love when fics incorporate the girls into the story as well. wha has always been about a family as well!!! contains qifrey in pain, and olruggio helping him out in his quiet way. i realise i have a pattern in what kind of fics i like if you read until this part.
oh the sun: It takes Olruggio a while to register it, that Qifrey doesn’t smile. -- Five smiles Olruggio sees, and one he doesn't. (5,003 words, fluff, complete)
good old 5 + 1 fic!! qifrey being reserved to olruggio is something so dear to me. and yet, he is the only one he would show his true self to. curse u shirahama sensei.

capping off (haha get it. bc they wear caps-) this mini fic rec post is a good old fix it where the girls find a solution for qifrey. just a feel good fic with fun banter at the end (i am a sucker for well-written dialogue if u can tell...)
