made some spicy tuna sushi today with cucumber for the first time. realised how much some places are ripping us off with their terrible sushi. hire me mediocre sushi places.

bought new knives. it feels so good to not have to struggle to cut my old hard lemons. of the kitchen implements, knives really are something i think are a good investment. and also learning how to keep them sharp. dont cut lemons with a bread knife if you can help it.

summer wasnt super hot this year, but we still got plenty of watermelon. so i turned one not particularly sweet melon into granita! served with a bit of unsweetened cream and honey. the perfect summer dessert 😌
