Elody: I have a really important question.
Elody: Is or isn't Pluto a planet at the moment?
Crispin: That's a good question actually.
Crispin: Though you're gonna have to ask Google because I have no idea.
sofiavolkov:
āWell, any somewhat laughable jokes are good jokes. My family werenāt very big on jokes growing up so I havenāt actually heard that many,ā she explained. It was true - her family were pretty serious and the only jokes sheād really heard as a kid were ones her brother had heard around school and told her later. āAh, no harm done. Itās probably the most interesting way Iāve ever met someone.ā
āThen Iāll have to throw them out whenever I can. Introduce you to the world of semi-okay jokes.ā he replied with a smile.Ā āI wish I could say the same, its definitely number two though. Number one is that time that girl hit me with her car because she was busy texting.āĀ
vronjames:
Ronnie couldnāt help but smile.Ā āSounds like a good idea to me.ā She laughed with him.Ā āWell.. Iām not usually one to shareā¦. But I think i can supply the chocolate if you bring the ice cream.ā
āthen its a deal!ā he replied with a grin.Ā āglad we squared that way. now i just need a time and place and weāll be all set.āĀ
luxdevereaux:
āthey love you, you know⦠theyāre your parents, you should appreciate you have that ā someone who cares, i mean.ā there was a small twinge at his words, her jaw clenching slightly as she nodded her head, not daring to say another word. she didnāt really know what to do, her hunger suddenly dissipating as the pit in her stomach grew. long lashes batted as she pushed herself away from the table.Ā āi-i should um⦠i should get back to work,ā she murmured quietly, taking in a breath, before she spoke, the fork slipping from her grasp as she came to her feet, slightly unbalanced.Ā āus⦠a-as friends.. it wonāt work, crispin. because i canāt think of you as a friend, i donāt think thatās possible. thanks for the food but um⦠enjoy, i guess.ā
āi know i do---i just---nevermind. youāre right and i do appreciate them. i just wish theyād step back a little and let me be my own person.ā crispin let out a soft sigh as she pushed herself away from the table, knowing heād said something stupid. he stood up to follow her, wringing his hands nervously.Ā āplease wait lux, can we talk about this?ā he asked, clutching her shoulder lightly.Ā āso do you just want me out of your life completely then or what?ā
luxdevereaux:
āright⦠senator,ā she murmured, her hand glancing down to the ring that still sat on her left hand, quickly she hides it under the table as she gives him a meek smile, taking it off as discreetly as she can, making sure not to take her focus off of him.Ā āasshole move, yes, smart? undeniably,ā lux assured him quietly, biting down onto her lower lips as she puts the ring into her purse.Ā āgood, for a second i thought you were back for me, that wouldāve been⦠well ā i donāt know,ā she muttered with the shake of her head, her thoughts fogged over by the couple tablets she popped earlier, letting out a sigh.Ā āi should just start by shutting up, that seems like a good route to take.ā
āyup. iāmĀ so definitely looking forward to it.ā he said with a roll of his eyes. he let out a soft sigh at her words and shook his head.Ā ādefinitely not back for you. weāre done, i know that. iām moving on, donāt worry. i just didnāt want to lose you completely, i guess? itād be nice to at least still have you as a friend. thatās why i brought a peace offering.ā he said, motioning towards the food.Ā āthereās plenty of food to stuff your face with.ā he said with a smile.Ā āyou donāt have to talk about anything you donāt want to.ā
vronjames:
āObviously you didā¦. but you know what? I think we could easily merge the two. It just sounds like a fantastic addition.ā
āYou know that actually doesnāt sound like that bad of an idea.ā he laughed.Ā āI just need to find someone to implement it with now.ā
sofiavolkov:
āAh - dad jokes. Iād hope theyāre actually decent ones. Iāve known people who say they have good ones, but in reality theyāre not so great,ā Sofia shrugged.Ā āNo, no - weāll split the blame. Itās no fair for one of us to go all in on it,ā she decided.Ā āOh, nice to meet you. Iām Sofia.ā
Crispin gave a playful grimace at her words.Ā āI wouldnāt exactly say theyāre uh---good? Most of the time they fall more into theĀ āso stupid you canāt help but laughā categoryā.ā he gave a slight nod at her words.Ā āNeither of us can really be blamed if weāre both at fault so iāll take that. Well, its nice meeting you Sofia. Too bad I had to almost knock you over to do it.ā
luxdevereaux:
at the words, she couldnāt help but laugh, not meaning to hurt his feelings, though she couldnāt help herself. tucking a piece of hair behind her ear as she takes a seat across from him.Ā ā so you expect me to believe that your parents, the ones who wanted you to be a doctor are okay with you just spending more money to pursue film,ā she asks, raising a brow up at him as she looks at him her head still foggy.Ā ā god, crispin, you couldāve gone to ucla, or hell ā i donāt know, juilliard. why everwood?āĀ
āwell they werenāt exactly happy about it. dadās trying to keep up looks though, heās running for senator and stuff so it wouldnāt exactly be good if it got out he wasnāt letting his son further his education right? at least thatās they way i put it to them.ā he said with a devious smile.Ā ākind of an asshole move but how else was i going to go backā he shrugged his shoulders at her words.Ā āi donāt know? i really donāt. thereās just something i liked about it here. people up there are so up their own asses, its nice being around more level headed people here.ā
luxdevereaux:
pushing her way into the, thankfully, empty room, she snatched the bags from his hands, placing it down onto the table before getting the utensils and plates from the cupboards with a sigh.Ā āgreat that me upset gives you such amusement ā next thing i know youāre going to tell me that you work here too,ā her eyes widened as she snapped her head back at him.Ā āyouāre not working here are you?ā she paused for another moment, brows pulling together contemplativelyĀ āwait, did you say youāre majoring in something else? are you insane? crissy ā crispin,ā she quickly corrected herself, shaking her headĀ āyou already got your doctorate, what the hell are you doing?ā
he raised his hands defensively.Ā āi donāt like you upset. i promise. iāmĀ not working here, so you donāt have to worry about that. iāmĀ not working at all actually.ā he said, taking a seat.Ā āfull time student and all. eh, i did that for my parents. i wanted to do something for myself. thatās why i came back for another degree---in film.ā
marshall-devons:
āIsnāt that expensive? I mean, my fridge isnāt completely empty I have other food to make. Iām good, Iāve got money to buy more.ā
āIt gets expensive yeah, thatās the beauty in being a trust fund baby. Donāt tell anyone that though, it might ruin my starving artist image street cred. You sure? I donāt mind. I was going to grab some food myself anyway.ā
sofiavolkov:
Sofia laughed softly as he joked.Ā āYouāre funny, but Iām glad your shoulder is okay,ā she smiled.Ā āIām okay. Zero injuries here, thank God. I probably should have looked up before I started walking, though.āĀ
āAnd Iām glad youāre okay! If you think Iām funny now though, just wait until I pull out my specialty---dad jokes. Iāve got a million of āem stored away.ā he replied with a chuckle.Ā āWell Iāll take full blame this time. We both just need to look out more in the future, yeah? Iām Crispin by the way.ā he said, extending his hand.Ā āCan I ask your name?ā
luxdevereaux:
she couldnāt help but look at him bewilderingly, sure, heād lived here before, but after making his way back out to new york, she was sure thatās where heād wanted to stay.Ā āso you expect me to believe that you came back to california, and out of all places to live, you chose everwood?ā before she had a chance to answer him, her stomach growled and she knew the battle was lost. a small groan escaped her lips as she pushed herself up from the desk, heading toward the break room, muttering under her breath as she breezed past him.Ā āthere better be eggrolls.ā
āwell i mean---thatās the truth so yeah? you donāt think i moved all the way back here just to bother you, did you?ā he asked raising an eyebrow.Ā ābecause that was only half of it.ā he joked, giving her a playful wink.Ā āof course thereās eggrolls lux, what do you take me for? some kind of savage? there are spring rolls in there too.āĀ
luxdevereaux:
at the sigh of him, she nearly let the device slip between her fingertips, though looking to that smile sheād known all too well, she regained her senses after the slight loss of them, however it was still evident in her voice.Ā ā y-youāre supposed to be in new york, crispin ā what the hell are you doing here?? ā eyebrows threaded together, lips pressing in a firm line as she looked to the bags and she couldnāt help but let a sarcastic chuckle slip through her lips.Ā āĀ of course, god damn it, of course you have food. ā
ānew york? nah, it wasnāt my style. thereās a lot more opportunity out here for film and stuff. not that youād know that i even switched to that major but hey, i did.ā he gave a passive shrug, shaking the food bags.Ā āso food? or no? because i can go if you want me to.āĀ
norabainesx:
āUh, Iām sorry, I donāt mean to be one of those shoppers but my daughter said she wanted something with a glittery frog on it to wear on the last day of school, would you know if you had something like that here?ā Nora asked the store employee, scratching her browā something she did when she was a little confused.Ā
Crispin spun around shaking his head slowly.Ā āNo I uh-IĀ actually donāt work here.ā he said apologetically.Ā āI know the outfit screams retail worker but Iām really not. If you want though, Iām sure I could help you find something like that. I come here all the time so Iāve got a pretty decent knowledge of the stores lay-out.āĀ
marshall-devons:
āI just walked in on my roommate eating my food. I swear when I have the money Iām buying a locked mini fridge. Itās so frustrating to have people constantly eating my food.ā
āSee thatās exactly why I always just eat out. That way I donāt have to worry about coming home to an empty fridge. Do you need some food man? I could buy you some if youāre that bad off.āĀ
vronjames:
āWho knew Netflix and chill literally mean sitting on the couch with your puppy eating easter chocolate a week early⦠What a time to be alive.āĀ
āWait is that what it means? I always thought it meant watching Netflix and eating ice cream. Though I think I may have taken it a bit too literally.āĀ
sofiavolkov:
Sofia sighed, leaning on the wall outside of the bar. It had been impossible to say no to her friends from class when they suggested she come out with them that night, though she was starting to regret it now. As she stepped forward to head back inside, she felt herself accidentally bump into someone.Ā āOh, shoot! Are you all right?ā She asked, even though she knew she hadnāt ran into them that hard.
Crispin glanced up, grabbing his shoulder playfully at the question.Ā āI donāt know. I think it might be broken.ā he replied with a playful smile.Ā āThe more important question though is, are you okay? I really should watch where Iām going. This has to be like the tenth time I bumped into someone this week.āĀ
