really sick of looking up “hetalia poland” and seeing nothing but lietpol fanart coming from a huge lietpol enthusiast and lithuania fan why does all of poland’s content have to revolve around ships i’d say it goes both ways too but there’s a good amount of lithuania fanart where it’s just him or at least different pairings (even though they all suck. yes. this is rusliet slander. this is lietbel slander. this is ameliet slander.) or even with the baltics so why is 90% of poland art just ship art

i don’t even say this just because of the bow thing even though i think it counts for something but because everyone wants to disagree with that there are multiple other hints that you could point out

“isn’t she lovely” being used is such a big hint i don’t understand why everyone is mad (i mean i do — it is a song about childbirth made by a black man being used in a show made by a racist) but when you look at it jax accepting herself as a woman it really does feel like a new girl being born does it not? that’s been a metaphor for accepting yourself as trans forever — coming from a trans man

you could also mention jax’s strange interest in zooble’s gender identity or how she felt like she has to be masculine and that it didn’t come naturally or even how afraid she was to explore her more feminine side

also i know i said i wasn’t going to use this as proof but that scene where ribbit puts the bow on her head she says “your secret is safe with me” — obviously clocking jax as trans right there hence why later jax was so upset and scared

also the most obvious piece of evidence i have is that gooseworx herself is transfem and she has admitted to jax being her self insert so i mean what more can i say

i have mixed feelings on hetalia’s art style change

i like the old one more but i think the newer one is objectively better

the old one whitewashed a lot of characters and poorly portrayed younger characters (example; during the spain and chibi romano episodes, how old do you think spain is? 19-20? nope, he’s a preteen…around 14-15!) and overall wasn’t very good

the new style looks more like the manga and draws characters with darker skins like they’re supposed to have

my only complaint is that finland specifically looks like a child and it makes him and sweden look really odd together—also japan’s eyes aren’t as emotionless looking and it was a very nice character trait he had + germany and italy…son don’t even get me started

what is the appeal of gerita?

i recently have seen a lot of people complaining about gerita being so popular and other ships getting overshadowed by it—i even saw some people say they didn’t see the appeal, though i think it’s really obvious, i figured i’d start a series where i explain why people like hetalia ships!

classic —

feliciano and ludwig have a very common and classic dynamic especially for mlm pairings! the trope is liked by many and it’s shown over and over again throughout hetalia.

borderline canon —

out of any ship in hetalia (key word: ship, not canon relationship) feliciano and ludwig are shown to be the closest and have an overwhelming amount of scenes together. they are almost always by each other’s side!

kiss scene —

a lot of fans took the scene in which ludwig kisses feliciano on the cheek as a confirmation of their relationship, which…is not true. actually, in italy, it’s a common greeting to kiss someone on their cheek!

even so, most people are unaware of this and took it as a romantic thing.

chibitalia canonically was in love with holy roman empire, and because holy roman empire and germany are technically the same person, that would sort of imply germany and italy could also be in love.

i’ll make a post on this in the future!

germany says “ich liebe dich” —

at some point in hetalia, feliciano dreams that kiku and ludwig are not actually his friends/dropped him, and this fear is “confirmed” when arthur tells feliciano that germany is only pretending to be his friend.

feliciano then runs over to ludwig to seek out the truth, to which ludwig replies; “lies, they are not true. actually, ich liebe dich. ja. ich liebe dich.”

this happens in hetalia: axis powers; episode forty one!
