like for me this is one of the hugest and ugliest and most difficult to confront aspects of lesbophobia. the fact that it’s deemed a-ok and healthy for straight men to sexually covet us. it’s sick. it’s not just “because we’re unavailable to them” either, this is literally a part of our culture

you know how many lesbians i know who are rape victims? a vast majority of them. the way that rape culture impacts lesbians is unspeakably huge, and the fact that this is ingrained in our culture is fucking terrifying

as long as society keeps telling straight men they are entitled to fantasies of lesbian women, entitled to lesbian porn, entitled to fantasizing about us and fetishizing us no lesbian will ever be safe.

and i rarely see this talked about in lesbian tumblr circles but it needs to be. it’s fucking dangerous. i originally hadn’t wanted this to be reblogged but at this point i feel like this is something we have to bring up. something people need to be aware of.

because it’s fucking damaging our community unlike anything else i can think of, and we need to stay safe. we deserve to stay safe. we deserve to live in a world where we aren’t prized sexual objects to be won
