I'm working on a really complicated comics project for my MA program. It's 3D, I spend 99% of my time messing around in blender. These doodles are the only things that I do with pen on paper.

I really want my next comic to be traditional art, I miss doing things with my shaky lil hands...

3/3 - Red wine And this is the last one, red wine. Maybe I'll post the designs I submitted eventually, but they'll stay secret for now. 🤫

There will be a vote of all designs on the Academia Birtok facebook page, where you'll be able to see my, and my classmates' designs. When? I don't know exactly, because they bombed the page with the submission info as soon as the deadline came about and I forgot to write it down. Oh well.

1/3 At my MA program, I had to submit stuff to a wine label design competition. These three are discarded illustrations from that project. One of my teachers said that they didn't have the sensuality of wine (which they should have), which honestly is a fair critique. But it still rustled my jimmies enough that I drew sexy grapes for a few days.

Guys, guys (what guys, no one reds this crap) check this out.

I was looking at a reel about a Björk videoclip directed by Chris Cunningham, and I noticed he had some pretty cool drawings.

Turns out it's bc he is a comic artist who worked among other things on Judge Dredd. And then I found this robot guy

And I was like, huh, he sure reminds me of the Imperfect in Morrowind: Tibunal. So and I compare the two, and what gives! The similarities are a bit uncanny.

I was always fascinated by the the textures of the imperfect, so I had copy of the actual ripped texture saved aaand it's not a perfect match, but there are some parts from the first illustration, like the imperfect's hips.

So I look some more, and I find this with the rest of the details.

Plagiarism!

As I said, I was fascinated by the imperfect's textures, because they were unique within Morrowind. I liked the sketchy look so much that I considered doing it on my own 3d art.

I could see from the texture that it was kind of a patch job, so I assumed the unique quality came form the fact that it was someone's raw concept art thrown on the model because they were running out of time. Turns out I was right, but that someone didn't even work at Bethesda!
