i think i remember one of the system shock 2 devs mentioning in one of nightdive studios’ livestreams (they’re working on a remaster/remake of system shock 1 so they’re in contact with the old devs occasionally) mentioning that the system shock 2 ending is... the way it is due to time restraints and such, & it just makes me think abt how neat it would’ve been if there had been an alternate ending where you side with The Many against shodan bc The Many really weren’t that evil... like yes they were a little bit evil and a little gross and scary, but their intentions & actions from their perspective weren’t evil
