She appeared by his side much like a hawk eyeing its prey, ready to swoop down and steal any slices of the pizza available to her. The image itself was enough to prompt a quiet chuckle from him. Andrew lifted the box and its contents high above both their heads, being careful to balance the bouquet of candles held in his other hand. “There might be,” he teased, knowing he had yet to touch the meal, and enjoying her assumption that there may not be anything left for her to enjoy. “But maybe I promised it to the ghosts lurking around.” Though spoken in jest, he still cautiously glanced around for any looming figures bearing leery eyes, intent on sending a chill of warning down his spine. Seeing – or sensing – nothing, he took a seat beside her, allowing their midnight snack to plop down between them. “Your ‘cool, awesome, best buddy Drew’ bought enough to share.” With a complacent smile, illuminated by the flickering candlelight placed atop the tombstone behind them, he lifted the cardboard flap, revealing a whole, untouched pizza ready to be eaten. A finger of warning rose, waggling between them before reaching down to take the first slice. “You only get half. If I see you stealing from my side, I’ll be forced to order another one. And we can’t be torturing Uber Eats drivers by having them come here every half hour.”
She couldn’t hide her hunger; eager eyes following the trail he lead the box down, along with her cravings filling her mouth which she gulped down almost desperately, very certain he would notice- but perhaps that was all a ploy? Mentally crossing her fingers that he would cater to the physical cries for help, however, with his comment suggesting the food may be for any form other than herself, her brows quickly lifted as disapproval gripped her chocolate hues. “Ah~ Yah-” The dancer lightly slapped the man’s leg with the back of her hand. “You should never play with the feelings of a woman who hasn’t eaten all day.” Joey retorted sternly, though her following chuckles reassured him of the jest behind her words.
Upon seeing her friend readying up to sit beside her, she quickly swung her legs around to cross them beneath her straightened upper frame, hands now clasped together in excitement as she witnessed the sight of a meal unfolding before her, and once noting that the pizza hadn’t even been touched, she glanced to her side and was greeted with both a physical and verbal warning, to which she let out a rather loud string of laughs, soon nudging his knee with a loosely closed fist. “Oh hush- I’m not that much of a savage- even if it is their job.” The young woman gestured to the box ahead. “After you, buddy ol’ pal.” Her words were drenched in formality as her head dipped to really drive home the exaggerated politeness, but she didn’t waste a second and welcomed her normal nature with a low, stifled chuckle. “So? Was pizza really to satisfy your hunger? Or.. ...Is it to distract you from the scawy gwaveyard?”
