ok but the TRAUMA of becoming a god. the literal dehumanization. sure, the old god of death had their name stricken from history, but the raven queen? she is what nobody was ever meant to be. she had a life, a name, a career, a friend. she was a person, with intricacies and flaws.

a thousand years from now, no one will remember her as she was. godhood is as much a prison as it is a privilege. it's a job you can never leave. a concept you can never not embody. imagine what it does to a person, to go from being a mortal individual to a fundamental piece of the laws of reality.

no wonder she destroyed the secrets to ascension.

The best service Yasha ever did in the name of her god was to find and dedicate herself to her own will.

For Yasha, worship of the Storm Lord has only ever looked like self actualization. That's all he's demanded of her. The will she sought to follow with everything she is, in the end, was her own.

Because people get it wrong, don't they? They hear "god of glory" and assume that's something objective that they can do, some feat they can master in a great display of physical prowess.

And for some, that would be true. That would be their endpoint of self actualizing, but it doesn't mean that's all Kord is about.

Yasha fought for one thing in the end: to secure the safety of those she loved, to enable their happiness.

I'm so glad she was able to include herself on that list, that the final dedication of her strength was in pursuit of the softness she was violently denied at the start.
