my sous chef at my work looks and sounds a little bit like kim (if he was about ten years older) and he constantly tells me good job or he's proud of me and i'm having to hold back from thirsting after him. its a problem.

I'm so tired of the transgender headcanons only ever falling on the one or two skinny guys in the game. Seeing Kim as trans is fine but so many people do it and then are adamant that Jean, Harry, or any of the other larger (whether it be with muscle or fat) men in game can't possibly be transgender. It feels shitty and is annoying to see, even though I'm a transfem and not a trans dude.

The lack of acknowledging Judit as her own character and instead always addressing her/exploring her via her relationships with the male characters in Elysium is so fucking annoying. I get that she doesn't have a super big role in the game, but I've seen people explore the smoker on the balcony with more care! It feels like vague misogyny, but I'm not sure if I'm overreacting.

you know how in SATA, zigi has a ghost version of Nilsen that follows him around? I've got one of those, but it's harry. he acts like a sad puppy, asking to go on walks and pointing out strangers that he things are interesting or dangerous. he refuses to respond when I call him harry though, so I have to call him lieutenant or officer

I really dislike the word "kin" (as in "kinning a character") and I do not assign myself kins (my friends do that for me jokingly from time to time). But Harry, his mental state and his inner world really find a response in me. I am genuinely horrified by our similarities and I do not want to end up like him. I adore Disco Elysium, I really do — it's gorgeous, beautiful, a stunning piece of work, — but it would be much better if I didn't get to know this character.

Harry du bois is the most seen I’ve ever felt by a fictional character in a piece of media. I love him so much. I’ve got ADHD / OCD / a general impulse control disorder, and Harry’s internal thought system feels very familiar to how my own brain works. I’ve never seen it represented like that before. I’m not a 40-something alcoholic cop - but I am a flamboyantly dressed, inherently silly bisexual artist. I can’t tell people this!!!!! Because how mad does it sound to have to explain to people that your ‘just like you fr’ person is fucking HARRY DU BOIS

i think people who love disco elysium should to an annual replay of the game just to get a refresher on things that really happen. and i don’t mean that in a “fanon is stupid” way i mean that in a “experience a conversation with the cuno” way

i had a dream where i was playing disco elysium 2, but it took place post-destruction of revachol and was just a walking simulator where there was nothing to do, but harry had ascended to some kind of godhood and became a vessel for la revacholiere, so when you walked around the only thing that would happen was an ongoing monologue from shivers (there were no other stats) and it was pretty scary and sad

I got all hyped up when I could tell the sunday friend that the lorry driver guy was involved in corporate espionage and got pretty disappointed when it just did nothing to him. it would've been very funny I think

I have a drawing of Kim Kitsuragi hung up on my wall that i make out with every time i pass by it. I don't even like men but i genuinely can't stop myself, he's so entrancing

I got very emotional at the end of the game. Started tearing up at the credits knowing it was over. Except it wasn't. I'm on my sixth playthrough now and I'm still finding bits of new dialogue that keeps things fresh and exciting. Never has a game reached so far into my mind and heart. Disco Elysium is amazing!

i think measurehead, while definitely a unflinching fascist, does have a certain dark comedic quality in being such a blatant and pathetic display of contradictions. that said, one of the funniest lines that caught me off guard is once he goes over harry with the Phrenological-Degeneracy-5000-Analysis.. bro HAS to mention "aesthetically, the dimple on your chin makes you look like a little baby" like let's be so unserious rn
