18+ disordered system with many evil spooky opinions. no DNI just don’t break your own babes
this is our discourse (mostly syscourse) sideblog;; some stances under cut, will be updated as needed ;3
• proship/fic : not very invested in the discussion, but we oppose censorship even of content we find distasteful. this is the most common stance out in the real world and the fact that it’s a big online debate with gen z & a at all exemplifies how much our generations are losing ourselves in puritanical, conservative thinking, and the watering down of our artistic expression in an age which prioritizes total efficiency and moral perfection and staying on the grind. fiction DOES have an affect on reality, which is why artistic depictions of bad actions, even in a romanticized context (this encompasses so much of literary fiction but you wouldn’t know that if you only read fanfics), are important—and “fiction affecting reality” does not just mean people who read american psycho are going to go start killing people because patrick bateman made them think it was awesome or something.
• pro endo, willo, mixed, xeno origins : we’re mixed-origins but disordered & primarily traumagen. we recognize that the theory of dissociation which currently explains our existence as alters is still only a theory, that scientific knowledge is always changing, that we don’t know much about how the brain works at all so making any claims with a sense of authority like only x or y activity is possible under x and/or y specific circumstances is silly and plainly unscientific. a lot of syscourse consists of dysregulated systems who need an easy target to lash out at, and the weakness of their arguments makes this really obvious
most of us don’t understand xeno system origins but we don’t have to understand something personally to respect it & recognize that it’s important to someone out there. we have 1 label-hoarding alter who loves them but the rest of us don’t think about them much
• transplural neu : transplurals are essentially willos who like using trans terminology and feel some sort of plural dysphoria, and we don’t have much of a problem with that. but since their community is basically another one we already support using slightly different language, we’re neutral on it
• pro self diagnosis : as long as you’re as well-informed as possible, go for it, because if you live in the country we live in (US) or like half of all other countries ever, our medical and mental health systems are all fucked. for some people it’s not even a choice: systems who want to/need to be able to drive a car but who know a diagnosis would prevent them from obtaining a permit or license, for example. or anyone with any stigmatized condition who’d rather avoid discriminatory confrontations with medical professionals, or at their workplace, etc etc
