“Most of us ask for advice when we know the answer but we want a different one.”
— Ivern Ball
Trusting yourself is hard.
This amazing technicolor castle has been abandoned for more than 20 years
The Castello di Sammezzano is a show-stopper, a jaw-dropper. Hidden away in the Tuscan hills of Northern Italy, this electrifyingly beautiful Moorish castle was built a whopping 400+ years ago in 1605, but for more than two decades, it’s been sitting empty, neglected, vulnerable to vandalism and to the elements.
There are 365 rooms in the Castello di Sammazzano, one for every day of the year. The Moroccan-style palatial villa is a labyrinthe of exquisitely tiled rooms, each one intricately unique. Originally built by a Spanish noble, Ximenes of Aragon in the 17th century, it wasn’t until the 19th century that the castle would find its arabian identity and be transformed into the etherial palace it resembles today.

“My wish for you is that you continue. Continue to be who and how you are, to astonish a mean world with your acts of kindness. Continue to allow humor to lighten the burden of your tender heart.”

This literally cured my depression
Personal Journal entry #011016
I need to take a moment to remind myself of who I am. Whether it be who I currently am or who I hope to be---Just a reminder. I've been off lately when it comes to the company I keep. I've settled and traded some cold hearts for warm bodies. I need to remember that self respect means sticking to my own standard. To take care in who I surround myself with and how I allow them to treat me. I'll take more time to filter out my emotions before jumping into chaotic actions. Try harder to not judge others and myself so harshly. Life is short and love is rare, there is no sense in wasting time. Also, It is true that people tend to outgrow one another. But, more often than not it always ends up completely okay. Accepting so, cherish your humans while they are yours to cherish---choose your battles wisely and the company you keep even wiser. It is important to be realistic and to go when people are no longer a positive and healthy impact for each other. Trust in myself and know that while at times I may walk alone, I should never walk in fear. I'll work on keeping light and kindness in my heart and sadly but certainly, no company is better than shitty company. --- B.Y.G.

That is why it is so important to let certain things go. To release them. To cut loose. People need to understand that no one is playing with marked cards; sometimes we win and sometimes we lose. Don’t expect to get anything back, don’t expect recognition for your efforts, don’t expect your genius to be discovered or your love to be understood. Complete the circle. Not out of pride, inability or arrogance, but simply because whatever it is no longer fits in your life. Close the door, change the record, clean the house, get rid of the dust. Stop being who you were and become who you are.
