Deer Park plant fire: How the weather impacts growing smoke plume

The plume's foot print has reached as far as Austin, but the current elevation is keeping the risk of smoke exposure low, meteorologists say

The recent and on-going fire at ITC-Deer Park has prompted local news stations to start issuing smoke forecasts. Air quality testing continues throughout the Houston area and has yet to register dangerous levels per reports of local news outlets.

Please also note that as of posting of this the Deer Park shelter in place has been lifted!

We urge everyone to stay up to date on the ongoing fire through local news outlets and social media feeds of various county & municipal Offices of Emergency Management (OEMs).
