Just showing that I’m still working on that album. I’ve got a folder with way too many WIP tracks that I need to whittle down, but this one is a fresh one I’ve been working on today. Going for a sort-of dirty, sample-based vibe again (like First Period, but with more of a funky tone than an outright hip-hop sorta style). Three sample sources were used, two pretty obvious and one maybe not so much. See if you can recognize them.

This band just released their new album called Sad Communication and what I found on the 2nd track is a song called Misojireshon. The first word that was sang immediately reminded me of Kyary Pamyu Pamyu’s Furisodeshon (The word was “Atashi” and it was sang the same notes as the one in Furisodeshon). I did some google translating and Misoji means “Thirty”. They also mentioned Kyary’s Furisodeshon in their track by track info (I read Kyary-chan and Furisodeshon and assumed they mentioned her) I guess this song is Furisodeshon when you turn 30 =D http://sc.polta.in/

I looked this up and yes, “Misojiration” was intended to be an answer song to “Furisodation” :) Instead of celebrating, however, the song supposedly describes a 30-year-old woman’s sadness.

Scientists discover most relaxing tune ever

Sound therapists and Manchester band Marconi Union compiled the song. Scientists played it to 40 women and found it to be more effective at helping them relax than songs by Enya, Mozart and Coldplay. Weightless works by using specific rhythms, tones, frequencies and intervals to relax the listener. A continuous rhythm of 60 BPM causes the brainwaves and heart rate to synchronise with the rhythm: a process known as ‘entrainment’. Low underlying bass tones relax the listener and a low whooshing sound with a trance-like quality takes the listener into an even deeper state of calm.
