Thermogenesis makes up for about 10-20% of your calories used. Most of that is for digestion of food, keeping warm is only a fraction of it. That is an extremely small amount

When people were kept cold all day (24hrs) they only burned an extra 100-200cals. You know what also does that? An hour of walking- It actually burns more and isn’t liable to make your immune system weak AF

Soaking in an ice bath will not burn hundreds of calories. Shivering will not burn hundreds of calories. A cold shower will not burn hundreds of calories. People might tell you this but it’s ABSOLUTELY a bullshit @na myth based on misunderstanding of what thermogenesis is and how it works. It’s a silly lie that has been around longer than tumblr has 🙃

Finally got to try Pasta Zero! It’s not bad! It does NOT have the texture of regular pasta (it was rubbery if that makes sense) but I enjoy it. Made some soups with it that was ~55cal for around 3 cups. It was wonderful, I definitely recommend it!

In other news, ya bitch is finally past their first goal weight! Back in the healthy weight range and 20lbs down from where I started at my heaviest!

Only 5lbs to go before I hit my LW and I’m friggen hyped.

Just finished an intake evaluation with a new psychiatrist. Was just asked about my suicide attempts and was told “but did you actually come close to dying and survive? That’s what I mean.”

Turns out intending to jump in front of a train, and only living cause the damn train was late and I got too cold doesn’t count then cause I stopped myself. Apparently getting halfway to the bridge I was going to yeEt myself off of and slicing up my neck doesn’t count either so we love to see it.

But heyyyyyy I finally get to go back on the medications after fighting with doctors for months. Maybe I won’t fail out of school this year, and who knows, maybe I can bump my GPA up from a literal 0.0 to a 2.8???? 😎

I’m not saying don’t have kids. And if you do have a kid and you’re still struggling with your ED then more power to you, I’m wishing you the beat cause that sounds hard.

BUT kids are not stupid, they notice things and they learn a lot from you. You know this, and I’m sure you’ve experienced this. If you are still actively engaging in your ED behaviors around your kid(s), they are more likely to develop an ED too. So please get off the proana train so you don’t pass this disease on to your children. As someone who missed out a lot when I was younger (mind you I was 111lbs and I’d pay to weigh that much now) because I was so insecure about how I looked, I’d say if you’re ever invited somewhere, go.

You can always come up with an excuse why you’re not wearing a swimsuit or are wearing any sort of cover up-goes for any gender (you’re on your period, recovering from some wicked sunburn etc. google it if you have to).

The movies and ridiculous amount of snacks/soda or even choice of clothing: the sugar makes it hard to sit still, popcorn makes my lips blister etc. let’s say you’re wearing oversized clothes or long sleeves: I get cold at the theater etc.

But try not to miss out on any experiences with your friends/loved ones.
