early garshimi where they’re settling in for a movie night and yolanda flops down on the end of the couch with a bowl of popcorn. baran is already resting against the other arm of the couch, mind you, assuming yolanda would be curling up against her. she glances at yolanda, who just grabs the remote.

what are you doing? baran is confused. they just had sex and yolanda is putting about two whole couch cushions between them.

putting on a movie? it’s almost defensive, but she can’t really look at baran, whose gaze is always so piercing. ah. there it is. faint but unmistakable heat to her neck. baran wrestles down a smile, not smug or even amused, just warm.

so she dips her body toward yolanda, crawling the one, two cushions over and settling into her side. one leg up across yolanda’s hips, her arm warm and heavy across her middle. she kisses her collar bone and the crook of her neck and settles her head under yolanda’s chin.

this okay? baran mumbles, but the tension has already bled from yolanda completely. her arm comes to rest around baran’s shoulders.

yeah, it’s fine. it’s supposed to be nonchalant, but her voice has gone impossibly soft.

one day, yolanda will wrap herself around baran at the drop of a hat. will openly want to curl up under her ribcage and sew herself there. but right now, baran is happy to close the gap for her. quietly and without judgment. show her it’s okay to want something soft
