hi all, let me remind you guys of a pretty prevalent scam that i just found out about and thus have to share with yall in case you get the same scare i got 🥀

this person here messaged me randomly, and sent me a message that i've since found out was pretty much a copypasta between these scammers (or potentially the same person, who knows).

first of all, i would like you all to report this account. while they have been following me since last year, and their (minimal) activity seemed innocuous enough, it's clear that they've fallen victim to this scam and have had their information stolen and subsequently their blog. what i understand is that this "shanjun cheng" is, obviously, not an actual tumblr support and will tell you to give them your email and other information to "fix" your issue and stop your account's "queued permanent deletion", and they'll simply log you out and steal your blog. it's important to note that when you get a message like this, you *have* to be calm and really assess what you've been sent. not one single claim in this "report" adds up to my activity. phishing? financial scams? i don't even have the means to communicate with people financially/wire money to begin with. this image might *look* genuine, but know confidently that it's a singular template that's used and sent to many other users, the only difference is that they change the profile picture to fit yours as well as your url, and the look of the "discord profile". but it remains with the same elements: outlandish report/violations (mostly phishing or monetary scamming), static and grainy image with no real links/redirection, and the fake persona of Shanjun Cheng. i think what made me hesitate the most is the fact that this user, like i said, had been following me for an entire *year*. but these messages could also be sent to you by completely random blogs. so please, block and report immediately, and be calm and don't fall for these scams. stay safe, everyone 💕💕
